I'm new to allnurses. I just found out that I didn't pass the fifth time. Been out of school for a year and a half. Will I ever be a nurse? I have used Kaplan, Saunders and most recently DVD lecture series from Review for nurses, Lagerquist. This time I still felt that I was going to throw up when I left the test. After the initial couple hours passed I didn't feel like I failed. So much for that. I've read some of the threads and was wondering what Suzannes plan is and how do I find it. I suppose in a nut shell I'm really not sure where to go from here. Any advice?

oh no!
well i suggest that you first take a step back and analize where in your studies you went wrong.
- are you studying and nothing is sticking in?
-do you get easily distracted?
-are you doing too many study books that you feel overwhelmed?
secondly, pick one program only. if it is the dvd's you mentioned above, then stick to one thing, and do everything that comes with it. the questions, everything!!!
third, make use of the program, and spend quality time studying. i used to make note cards and stick them on the wall while i studied, so every time i looked up i would see my cards.
fourth, keep a schedule of the things you need to study. for example: week 1: study medsurg & do 500q and no matter what, do it.
if you work hard, you will pass the test and you will pass the test!!

I am so sorry to hear that you have not been successful thus far taking the exam. I do think that many of the suggestions made, such as choose ONE study method is in order, now, so that you will not be overwhelmed. Also, if you are not relaxed, consider meditation and/or medication before the exam. I wish you luck next time.
