Hi everyone! I'm hoping to connect with others who are applying this summer to Frontier Nursing University's Class #157! I had hoped to apply to Class #155, but it looks like some parts of my application may not be ready to submit until later in the summer.
A little bit about me: I just graduated from my BSN program, and am currently waiting for my ATT so I can finally schedule my NCLEX! Prior to nursing school, I was a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator for 6 years, and I'm very excited to expand my scope of practice as a certified nurse-midwife! While in my BSN program I conducted original research exploring the relationship between interpersonal processes of care as exhibited by the primary care provider, and the level of maternal satisfaction with the birthing experience, and had a ton of fun presenting at regional and national conferences (next up are NNPS in Keystone, and MANA in Atlanta)! The abstract was published in Nursing Research and I've submitted the morificecript to The Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health, and am currently waiting to hear back about its publication!! If you can't tell, I'm a HUGE research nerd.
FNU Class #157 Hopefuls: introduce yourselves so we can form a community and wait to hear about our acceptances together!!!
Hi Guys, (Omg I'm so LATE AND ALL) I currently just turned in my application to FNU for the CNM program for Aug 24th extended deadline. Hopefully I get in and not on a waiting list because I see people turned their stuff in a while back...(yikes). Im nervous and excited at the same time and was wondering when should we hear back from them because I was looking at air flight from Houston to there and realized all the major airports were over 100 miles away...so now I'm really freaking out!!! Ive heard nothing but good things about this university though so Im ready for whatever gets thrown at me.
A Little About Me:
Im currently a Labor and Delivery Nurse (4 years) and have worked in Med-Surg before L&D for 2 years. I already have my Master's in Nurse Education where I teach childbirth classes and nursing students.

Hi Miss_NitaMSN,
From what I've been reading it looks like they typically start to inform students 6-8 weeks before the Frontier Bound date. For us, that would be anywhere between the 1st and 3rd week of October. I have heard a few instances where people found out as early as 11 weeks before FB and as late as 3 weeks before FB so it's really hard to say. Is there any way you could purchase a flight with insurance in the event that you're wait listed? Good luck :-)
Hello Ladies! Just wanted to update everyone that they have already started sending admission emails out. I just received my today through email and am relieved. Just wanted to let everyone know that they are sending them out now. Good look to everyone else and hopeto see you all at frontier bound
Hey everyone!
I'm looking to apply for to the FNU CNM program, Class 166. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips with the essay writing. I've been in L&D for about 6 months but will have a year of experience once classes start. Just looking for any tips for the application process.
Would love to here from you!
