Frontier Nursing University Class #157

Published

Hi everyone! I'm hoping to connect with others who are applying this summer to Frontier Nursing University's Class #157! I had hoped to apply to Class #155, but it looks like some parts of my application may not be ready to submit until later in the summer.

A little bit about me: I just graduated from my BSN program, and am currently waiting for my ATT so I can finally schedule my NCLEX! Prior to nursing school, I was a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator for 6 years, and I'm very excited to expand my scope of practice as a certified nurse-midwife! While in my BSN program I conducted original research exploring the relationship between interpersonal processes of care as exhibited by the primary care provider, and the level of maternal satisfaction with the birthing experience, and had a ton of fun presenting at regional and national conferences (next up are NNPS in Keystone, and MANA in Atlanta)! The abstract was published in Nursing Research and I've submitted the morificecript to The Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health, and am currently waiting to hear back about its publication!! If you can't tell, I'm a HUGE research nerd.

FNU Class #157 Hopefuls: introduce yourselves so we can form a community and wait to hear about our acceptances together!!! :whistling:

Hi!!

I'm applying for class #157, for the Family Nurse Practitioner PMC + DNP. I've been a WHNP for 6 years, and I want to expand my scope of practice and expand my opportunities for teaching and implementing community programs. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get in, Good luck to everyone applying!

JUST APPLIED TO CLASS #157 TODAY!!! AHHHHH!!! Let the waiting commence!

VickyCS2001, did you apply to any other programs yet?

No. I decided my next 2 options would be Bethel University-their next deadline is March 2017 and University of Cincinnati-deadline is May 2017. Both have August 2017 start dates.

That's great that they're both after this round of admissions for Frontier!! You won't be wasting time and money applying to other programs while you're still waiting to hear from Frontier!

Before I decided to apply to Frontier CNM, I applied to Drexel University WHNP program again as a back up well applied for their June 1 deadline and just got word that I was accepted...So my hubby is like Great u going there? I'm like no...I forgot I applied because after I applied I made up my mind to just do what I always wanted to do...plus if I do WHNP I know I would go back to get my CNM so I might as well do the Frontier route and get both...

YEAH FRONTIER! It's a bummer you spent the time and money to apply (and congratulations on getting in), but if you don't follow your dreams you'll regret it. Hope our waiting goes quickly!!!

I'm applying for the FNP class 157 as well!! I'm really excited and super hopeful that I'll get in.

Hi everyone! I just submitted my online application for class #157 and will be sending out my application packet in the morning!! I have never been more nervous for anything in my life :nailbiting: has anyone heard approximately how long it takes to hear back regarding acceptance??

I am looking into back up CNM schools just in case I do not get in to Frontier. Does anyone know of anyone who went to the Philadelphia University CNM Program or Bethel CNM program or Texas Tech CNM Program?

I am also looking into other programs in the event that I don't get accepted into FNU. I don't know anyone who went through any of the programs you listed; however, I am originally from MN and know many people who attended Bethel for other programs (including BSN) and absolutely loved it!! One of the main issues for me is finding a distance learning program. I live an hour from the University of Michigan which has a very good CNM program but I cannot fathom going to back to ground classes unless absolutely necessary.

Hello! I also applied to Frontier Class 157. I am excited to hear back!
