Hi everyone!!! I have been a nurse for 15 years and have worked in various areas of women's health such as Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, Obstetric OR/Prep/Pacu, Infertility, & Prenatal Clinic at the local Health Dept. I currently work in a multispecialty physician practice (because the PN clinic closed :-(...) that has pretty much every specialty but OB or Women's health focus...so I am missing my prenatal patients and women's health and decided I need to move on and get my NP degree. I went back and forth between WHNP and CNM and spoke to a friend of mine who's a CNM that asked me "why don't I do both?" and a light went off in my head that said "Yes! I can do both!!!" I've always heard of Frontier and recently found out about there option to take an additional course with additional hours that will enable me to sit for both my CNM & WHNP. I am really excited!!! ...and plan to submit my application for Class 157 in the next 2 weeks and then sit back and pray I get it!

Hi VickyCS2001!!! I may end up doing this too! I think a lot of the CEUs will overlap and count for both, so holding both certifications is probably not that difficult. :)
I'm really hoping all my stuff comes through in time so I can apply to 157. I'm so excited to finally be applying to the program I've wanted to be in all along- I went to nursing school just so I could become a nurse-midwife. Yay for loving mamas and babies!

Hi everyone! I'm hoping to connect with others who are applying this summer to Frontier Nursing University's Class #157! I had hoped to apply to Class #155, but it looks like some parts of my application may not be ready to submit until later in the summer.
A little bit about me: I just graduated from my BSN program, and am currently waiting for my ATT so I can finally schedule my NCLEX! Prior to nursing school, I was a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator for 6 years, and I'm very excited to expand my scope of practice as a certified nurse-midwife! While in my BSN program I conducted original research exploring the relationship between interpersonal processes of care as exhibited by the primary care provider, and the level of maternal satisfaction with the birthing experience, and had a ton of fun presenting at regional and national conferences (next up are NNPS in Keystone, and MANA in Atlanta)! The abstract was published in Nursing Research and I've submitted the morificecript to The Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health, and am currently waiting to hear back about its publication!! If you can't tell, I'm a HUGE research nerd.
FNU Class #157 Hopefuls: introduce yourselves so we can form a community and wait to hear about our acceptances together!!!
