Frontier Class 149

Hi everyone! I was recently accepted to Frontier's midwife program and wanted to see who else I will be meeting in May!

:)

I will be attending Frontier Bound in May. I am in Lake City. I will fly out of Gainesville maybe we will meet in Atlanta and share a flight!

JP, Future FNP This time of year it should be fine. Don't be fooled by the semi truck emergency ramps and falling rock signs. You will be fine :)

Specializes in ICU.

Can I ask you guys what made you choose Frontier over Georgtown or any other school? I've been doing my research but, I'm just getting so darn overwhelmed with info. It's all starting to run together. TIA!

I sadly have not chosen at all...at this point I'm letting the school choose me.. Georgetowns cost is í ½í¸–... Both programs are great. I would really look in to learning style and see what works for you. Frontier as I understand it is more self directed. Georgetown you actually have to show up in a virtual class room.

For me, Frontier was a solid choice. To be fair, I don't know anything about Georgetown's program other than the cost, but I'm sure it's a great school. I had just heard much more about frontiers reputation from many midwives in my community. Anytime I would mention nurse midwifery school, I would immediately be asked if I was looking into frontier. I love the rich history of the school and I love what it was founded on. If you haven't already, do some research on Mary Breckenridge and her work. She was like the original nurse midwife and she founded the school. :-) I also love that the cost is so affordable. While I don't anticipate any graduate school being cheap, frontiers tuition was a much better choice then many of the expense of schools I had looked into, including Georgetown. Also, it's a community-based nurse midwifery program, so you have to find preceptors in your community for clinicals. This can sometimes be an issue for people that live in more rural areas, but I've heard the school can help you find preceptors. Anyway, sorry for the long post. :)

Hello everyone! My name is Justine and I will be joining you in May. I am in the CFNP program. It's the final countdown, can't wait to meet all of you! I'll be driving since I live in northern Kentucky and it's around a three hour drive.

I started a group on Facebook. Just search frontier class 149 :)

Hi! I'm a prospective Frontier student and I just wanted to get some insight on the application process for you guys? Do you have tips on writing the essay? Are any of you planning on working while in the program? I would love to hear from you guys!

Hi!! There's a group on Facebook called Frontier Nursing University Hopefuls where you can ask any questions you have! The application is pretty straight forward and your essays count a lot towards your application- be genuine, write your heart out and watch out for grammar and things like that. A lot of us in my class are working, most of us full-time. Hope all goes well for you!

Thank you very much for the information and also for replying! You've given me motivation being that I'll be working full time when the time comes. Thank you again, and my prayers are with you and your class!

Oh no problem! Anytime! í ½í¸€
