Dianah I don't think I've ever heard of a key lime cake

Stars glad you were able to celebrate your anniversary.  And don't  worry, vent if you need to

Ado hopefully you can find some way to help the stepson

Tweety I would find that annoying too

Work was a lot better yesterday.  Had the chance to work ahead and get some of Friday's stuff done as well.  And since things are looking good I was told we could delay the monthly review until next month

Called the GI doc for the colonoscopy, left a message for the scheduler.  Glad I've taken this first step, hopefully getting this scheduled won't take too long

Tried to start the scarf project, but the yarn and knitting needles are too small for me to manage well.  Will have to stick with the larger sizes until I get more skilled.  Will need to find a new project that uses larger yarn

Today I get the opportunity to leave work early, one of our systems will be down for maintenance at noon.  Will likely leave sometime in the afternoon.  Will  not meet with J as he's currently attempting to switch life insurance and he's stressed by all the paperwork, so we'll get together Sunday instead

Will be in the mid 80s again today, no rain expected.  Glad a 3 day weekend is coming up

Good morning.

Joe, hope you enjoy the afternoon off.

I need to run to the UPS store and drop off some shorts I ordered in the wrong size to Amazon.  They make it easy and you don't even have to package it up. Just drop it off and show a QRS code on your phone.

I have a bathroom designer coming by this morning to talk about my new bathroom.  Glad to be moving forward with it, despite high inflation.

Good morning. I had my pacemaker upgrade yesterday, and it went so much smoother than last time, quite a contrast. I had one moment of consternation/ panic when the tech said if I couldn't  get my wedding band off, it would be cut off. I asked the IV nurse and she said this was true due to possible swelling and using electrocautery. I said "a heads up a week ago would have been helpful, and she rather flippantly said I was told 'no jewelry'." Huh? The next nurse squirted hand sanitizer on it as a lubricant and I wasn't having any luck, but she called someone else who kept working at it and got it off. Boy, was my finger red! I mentioned it to the Dr. and she was aghast. Anyway, got home very late, difficult to find a position of comfort to sleep, but that will get better. I have a haircut scheduled for this afternoon. And the grandkids are coming for the weekend , I think.

Tweety, you words about venting are so true. I like to think this is a safe space, and Lordy knows I do my fair share! I think venting helps us blow off steam, and not keep stuff bottled up. And yes, one can easily get caught up in a loop. When I get too negative, I try to write down 3-5 things that happened that day to remind me.

Joe, yes, bigger needles are easier and the work goes much quicker. Perhaps Joann's has some projects that will fit the bill. My friend knits socks with little tiny needles, which produces lovely work, but seems like it takes forever. And yes to long weekends.!

Oh, man, Dianah, that sounds smoking hot. Dh got home from Las Vegas last night and was enjoying our cool air from the minute he stepped off the plane.

NoStars, I hope you can get out more, if Nannie can be left alone. And by out, I mean something other than running errands! A venture to the library, maybe?

Ado, I hear you about creeping weight. I try not to keep many sweets in the house, because I am drawn to them. Ice cream is safe around me, because the cold bothers my teeth. Cookies, on the other hand--Look Out!

Joe, I've been intrigued by some of the comforters and such made with really large needles/yarn. I'm sure that's not quite what you have in mind, but that's what I thought of.

J22, glad you got that pacemaker upgrade done and it wasn't as big a deal as last time. Glad you were able to get your ring off rather than have it cut off!

Tweety, Hubs is talking about putting in a walk-in shower to make it easier to get Gma bathed. We'll see.

Hubs gave me a pained look this morning when I reminded him about the blues festival. It's 3 nights and our tickets will get us in for one of those. The boys have plans tomorrow night so they won't be available to Gma-sit. Maybe he'd be more willing Sunday. We'll see.

Hello to one and all~

Quiet day, mundane, hot + humid, and "that sun is really bright, isn't it?" (Yup, Nannie, that is what sun is: bright!)

Saw the network news' weather report... Nannie seemed to think the 1st hurricane of the season is heading our way! I had to 'splain to her that the hurricane is currently out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean which ain't even CLOSE to where we are, and it is heading NE which is waaaaay away from us. And no, no rain is predicted for tonight. She thought it is cloudy outside, but no, I said, it is called SUNSET!

Welp, another Saturday doth approacheth us, anon! Have no plans per se, but there are domestic chores I could do, were I of the mind to. That's tomorrow, though.

Tonight is the challenge of finding something to watch on TV, because the Braves/Marlin game is not being broadcast up here. I can check the score on-line, but unless some phenomenal play and/or horrific happens during the game, there won't be any video-snippets of said play.

Otherwise I'll be 'touring' the web, doing some crossword puzzles, or looking through a magazine. I am almost through with the book I am reading, but I am saving that to savor as I lounge in bed; it would ruin it if I had to read something with a plot-line, what w/ the TV volume, and the hubby/Nannie show that occasionally erupts.

BBZZZZTTT! Time's up! Talk with y'all at another time!

nursej22, so good to hear your upgrade is done and went well!  Hope you heal up quickly and the soreness passes.

Not much else to report here, other than the heat.

Have a good evening!
