Tweety I've heard of that diet, I think J was considering it at one time to address the digestive issues he was having

Stars sounds like a productive day, glad the caregiver was there

Felt better as the day progressed, the migraine or whatever it was faded away.  Work was again fairly quiet.  Had time to offer help at the end of the day but no help was needed.  After work stopped at the grocery store and library and got a haircut

Today should be pretty ordinary at work except for a brief meeting.  After work meeting my church friends T and D for dinner, after last week's plans had to be rescheduled.

Will be a warmer today today, in the mid 60s, unusual for this time of year

Good morning!

Joe, glad you had a good day and the headache went away.

I've found a pretty reputable source for the FODMAP diet and am learning.  It's a bit confusing because some sources say a food isn't allowed, but another says it is.  Apparently size matters such as raspberries are allowed at a certain weight but higher than that it crosses the line into not allowed.  I'm hoping it calms things down my system and I can add food that I like back in such as beans and bread. At least I can eat grains I like quinoa and brown rice.

Woke up early and will try to stay up.  It's wash the sheets day and that's happening and new sheets applied so the princess could go back to bed.

Otherwise should be an ordinary day.  Chilly in the 50's but it's warming up this weekend.

Hello all!

We spent yesterday afternoon at Disneyland, got in 10K steps, 3.5 miles -- dressed dapper, of course!  It was a very nice day, the calm before the storm.  Several weather apps predicted rain after 7pm, or after 10pm.  We left around 6pm.  It was good to see all the decorations, the lights, the sights!  We were briefly interrogated by two Stormtroopers when we walked through Batuu; heard a "new" band (new to us: the Pearly Band; they do Disney tunes.  Made up of drums, tuba trombone, saxophone, piccolo, trumpet).  Got to watch ppl coming down on the Grizzley River Rapids ride (and getting wet).  Watched ppl speed by on the Cars Land racing ride.  We had Udon and Teriyaki Chicken for supper, ate outdoors.  The temperatures were about 75 all day, even after dark (due to the cloud cover).  The clouds were beautiful.  Dh's ankle was stable and felt good, though he didn't push the speed, and used his cane all the time.

Here are some photos from Radiator Springs (Cars Land), the Christmas tree at the park entrance plaza, and us!

Glad the headache cleared up, Joe.

Tweety, I've heard of the Low FODMAP diet but don't really know anything about it.

Great pictures, dianah! I'm glad your dh's ankle is doing better and allowed for a good walk. Your trip to Carlsbad sounds like a good time.

I have a new laptop to use at work and I am working on getting used to the differences. Funny how changing a few  little things can seem so crippling.

Hubs is sailing today. He arranged to have the Gma sitter.

Stars, we have boxes from the move from Indiana (2013) that need to be  sorted through. I need lots of uninterrupted time as well as places to put the things I want to keep. And methods of disposing of things I don't. I don't know when any of that will happen.

I like the photos, too!

But now I have to tell you what occurred today. I was supposed to have my lifeline screening at an unfamiliar place. I consulted two different paper maps and SORT of knew where I should be heading, but the road I was looking for, changed to another roads name after you crossed the major intersection, I had to turn around, and and I stopped in a parking lot to reconfirm on the map(s) where I should be going. Then I pulled out and was 3rd at the stoplight. The light turned green, the girl in front of me stepped on her gas, and at that moment I checked to clock on the dashboard to see how late I was going to be. Then the girl in front of me slammed on her brakes and when I saw the brake light flash I hurried to put my foot on my brakes, but I had slipped out of my clog when I picked my foot up to find MY brake pedal, when I stepped on what I thought would be the brakes, and instead it was on the GAS pedal and I "BOOM!" crashed into the back of her car.

So we pulled into a parking lot and here comes the AMBULANCE and I'm thinking
"What?" Come to find out the passenger in that car is pregnant, and she was flipped out crying because she was so startled at my car crashing in to the one she was in, and that's why the driver called 911 first, to have her passenger checked out. Then the police showed up and I gave him the required ID's. He looked at the front of my car and said he couldn't even see anything where my car had hit hers .....no dents or scratches or any visible damage. On the back of her car it had no dents, and maybe a possible scratch, but it was under the dirtiness of the rear of the car so it musy've been an old scratch. No way could I have put an 11 inch long scratch on the back of her car.

Got that all straightened out and called the # for Lifeline Screening to tell them what happened and that I wouldn't be able to get there in 3-4 minutes. When I got home I called Lifeline Screening so I would NOT have to pay a fee ($50!) for not showing up, and to reschedule my appt at the Legion Hall where is where I have always gone for the screening, so I KNOW I can make that appointment!

My insurance company said that I had really good coverage and she was going to see if there were any claims going to be filed against me (I don't know how there could be, but ya never know.) but I would not be charged; I don't even have to go to have a claims adjuster for them to look at my car. I don't know what the other driver is going to do, but the EMT's checked her out and they didn't take her to the hospital, so I guess she is okay, just rattled. But, I hope they aren't going to file a claim against me, like saying she had a delayed reaction regarding her pregnancy or something due to my bumping into the car she was a passenger in. I don't know how far along she is, hard to tell from the glimpse I had when I went over to her side of the car to apologize. Maybe she's at 5-6 months? I dunno, but I hope she and her driver and friends or family are going to try to milk the situation.

The police guy said I would get the accident report in the mail (in up to 2 weeks?!), and the insurance company said they would be getting a copy of it, so I don't have to do anything further except wait and wonder, OH! And now I have to go get Nannie at daycare. The cherry on top of the dessert, I guess!

No Stars, I'm glad no one was hurt and there are not even many scratches, from the fender-bender -- and no belated repercussions!  But something like that will sure ruin one's day!  Yup, reschedule the screening.  I hope your evening is quiet.

Gosh Stars.  So glad there wasn't any damage or injury.  Sheesh

I sorted through some old papers and did some shredding.  Not really that much.  I put some stuff back in my 2nd bedroom where my roommate stayed.  Right before he moved in I emptied the room and got rid of some stuff.  There really isn't a lot of junk in my house to sort through.  Which is pretty good since I've been here 25 years.

I noticed a lot of cars outside yesterday and a few houses down on the other side of the street there was an estate sale, so I went to snoop.  DIdn't really find anything I wanted.  It was a nice house but seemed old, and a very nice pool and waterfront view.  The home is listed for 1.3 million.  Crazy.

Stayed inside alone today and pottered about.  Going to a hot yoga class.  I guess the first day of the diet is going okay.  But I was really hungry by the time lunch rolled around and am hungry now so I snacked and will eat after yoga.  I don't do hungry well.  I hope not to lose weight.

Stars, I am glad to read you were not hurt, and little if any damage to your car. Things like that can happen in the blink of an eye.

Overcast here. It rained all day yesterday, and like tomorrow. I've been cleaning out the closet in the hall where I keep linens, and extra dishes, pulling out stuff for the trash and to donate. dh gathered up a bunch of harnesses and dog coats that don't fit any more to donate, after a quick wash.

Eldest ds and DiL have agreed to help cook Thanksgiving at our house. dh with still do the turkey and ham on his bbq, I will do green bean casserole, my sisters will bring taters and salad. My youngest gs will make a pie. I am sure dh will try to prepare 4 or 5 more dishes, because he thinks we need enough food to feed 40.

Dianah, those pictures are so pretty. We were at Disneyland one year at Christmas and they really do lovely decorations.

I looked up FODMAP and was thoroughly confused. I would miss dairy, wheat, and onions. I hope you get some sustained relief, Tweety.
