Tweety that was nice that you got a free book

Dianah a Spring concert sounds nice

Stars I hope they have fixed the washing machine

Ado that's kind of a pain, that you have to go through paper charts to find that info

Work was good yesterday, fairly slow, no new cases, nothing unexpected.  Have someone off today but my schedule looks light so hopefully today will be quiet too. Do have a short meeting, but will be only like 20 min

After work was pretty quiet.  Stopped at the bank but otherwise just stayed in because of the storms.  Which turned out to be pretty weak in this area, didn't even get any hail and hardly any lightning

Sleep wasn't that great, was my first time this year sleeping with the AC on, so not used to it, and need to adjust it a bit better so the bedroom is cool enough.  Cat woke me up with her vomiting. Getting more frequent again so likely the vet appointment will be moved up

Nothing unusual after work, except for exercise and a Zoom meeting with church

Going to be unusually warm again, in the upper 80s

Good morning!

Hope you guys get some sleep.

I have my white noise maker and sleeping okay.

Our vaccine info is online.  Since I go off-site to also get covid at the same time, I have to download it to their site.  We have to document if we decline.  Must make their reporting easy.

Dad apparently didn't hear them when they made his appointment at another location. One unhelpful clerk said it can only be at the other location.  He had a fit and said he'd find another doctor.  But I talked to them and as luck would have a more helpful clerk said she noticed a cancelation and we are going back today.

Fit #2 was at the bank where he wanted some cash.  Apparently some form he and mom signed on 1973 expired.  Dad said give me all my money in $1 bills and close the account.  I laughed and told the clerk mom is housebound and can't come into sign anything.  After looking and clicking and conferring with others for a long time they let me take the form home to mom and dad got his money. Poor teller said this situation never happened to him before.  I did say they need to notify people when forms expire but understand it might be rare to have a customer for over 50 years.

Dad told them "you better be glad I brought my son, he's the nice one".  True I am the least hot headed of the bunch.  Best friend says I'm too nice.  🤣

So back to ortho and the bank to drop off the form today.

I slept a LOT! It is now 1 PM and I am waiting for the lidocaine patch on my right lower back to ease things off. May have to apply a few more patches in other spots....lateral hips, left knee, left shoulder, Have to go to the bank to deposit the check from BiL for Nannie-care, and on just a few brief errands. Then, later, I get to pick Nannie up from daycare.

You know, way back in the 1950's there were some people who got to go through some kind of a "sleep" program where you were medicated in order to make you sleep for extended periods of time. A vacation from life? While that doesn't resolve any other problems, it might be a nice break from reality. Doesn't pay the bills, though. Oh well!

Tweety, I have been told I am too nice, also. Hubby used to complain that I never argued. Basically I hate to argue and seldom see any point in debating things. I say what I think, but nicely. Even though I squawk like crazy here, I'm not like that in public.

I guess I better get busy before the entire afternoon disappears

I was up late, but I always seem to wake up at 6. It's been sprinkling a little rain, but held off long enough for a long dog walk. I don't mind the rain, but the dogs sure do. I don't know if it's their short coats or buggy eyes, or both. I went to PT yesterday. She massaged my ankle a heel ( this is called soft tissue work) and then I did a few exercises similar to what I did for plantar fasciitis. It's pretty low key, and I can't say that anything feels any better. Dianah, my doc basically agreed with the X-ray interpretation: insertional achilles tendonitis. And I made an appointment to get my knees injected again. I wish it could be done for my heel, but doc says there's no space in there like there is in a knee or a shoulder.

I tried making a cake with rhubarb, that turned out pretty good, but I can't eat it all and dh has declared that he cannot and will not eat any. This is the man who likes all kinds of fruit, but apparently not rhubarb.

Speaking of rhubarb, I am supposed to go out and help dh harvest it. He is going to take it to the food bank. I may go to the optical shop to get my glasses adjusted and update the lenses in my sunglasses. Oh, the excitement! I've noticed when I go to health care appointments people always ask if I have exciting plans. Uh, no. I feel like I'm letting them down. I shall have to create an alternative superhero that has exciting exploits.

Count me among the "too nice" people, too. I even fussed at Hubs the other day before he called the CPA and told him to "be nice." Not that I have not complained. I have. We probably shouldn't go into my interactions with the boys' first-grade teachers. (I was polite and professional, but they weren't, so I was not nice). Even so, I don't use foul language when interacting with people in public. I really try to be polite and professional always. Though with some patient complaints, and some interactions with doctors, I am biting my tongue.

We had cinnamon rolls today for hospital week.

Stepdaughter sent a picture of a tree in their yard that has a lot of damage from storms last night in northern IN. I thought there was hail in the picture, too, but she said no, that was stuffing from a stuffed animal the dogs chewed up. 🤣

It's 87 and sunny and really makes me want to go sit outside in the sunshine. There is rain coming, but possibly not until Monday. The OKC Philharmonic is doing a free concert in the park Sunday evening and I'd love to go, weather permitting. Of course, it's difficult to take Hubs out to something like that, unless we pay a Gma-sitter. If I can't talk him into going, I'll see if Twin A will go. We'll see.

I am usually nice, unless I feel someone is being bullied. I will call people out if I feel they are taking advantage of me or others. I remember a past neighbor who was yelling at me about one of our sons (age 8 or so) and she was shaking her finger in my face. I told her to get her finger out of my face or I would break it. I guess she believed me, and she stepped back and calmed down. Of course, I would never physically harm someone, but she didn't know that.

nursej22, would you freeze the rhubarb?  You can at least use the frozen in the future (I would LOVE to taste the cake!)

I am usually nice, too, thinking one never knows when the person one is dealing with is on his/her "last straw."  I never want to be the last straw, and I want to make sure all misunderstandings are cleared up, before accusing others of nefarious, mean, underhanded behaviour.  I agree with trying to maintain professionalism at all times.  I would rather, if folks see the altercation, they see the other person ranting and raving, and me standing calmly by, holding my (logical) ground.  😄

Ado, I hope you get to go to the Sunday afternoon concert.  🙂

I did a couple errands, and now that I'm home, have to continue moving the laundry through (two loads), and I need to freeze some of my low-carb bread and chop some jalapenos for the freezer, and maybe make some dh-crackers.

Have a good evening!

Hubs often talks about how he loved to pick rhubarb from his grandparents' garden and eat it. He liked green apples, too. I have had strawberry-rhubarb pie that was good but not something I'd go out of my way for.

This is the recipe for the rhubarb cake I baked. The rhubarb is subtle, and being just on the top keeps the cake from getting soggy.
