Good morning!
Good news from Dianah's cardiologist.
I volunteered to pick up a telemetry box a patient went home with yesterday. She lives in my zip code so can't be far from me. She was a crazy lady and wouldn't get dressed and wanted to wear a gown home so the nurse and tech didn't know she still had on the monitor.
Otherwise nothing much happening today.
Hello all!
Ado, hope your dh is soon feeling better.
No Stars, exciting book news! Hope today is stable (no falls, no drama).
Tweety, that's good of you to pick up the monitor (at least it wasn't an IV left in). Yah, sometimes patients do things their own way...
Joe, good to hear the meet-up went well (we like Indian food!), hope work goes smoothly today (yay Friday!). Will be curious to hear your impressions of the new bar.
Today is additional prep for tomorrow's departure for the trip up north. I plan to make lentil soup and a salad (chickpea/edamame/feta), and need to get a couple other grocery items. Do some laundry and then pack. Tomorrow we load the instruments and leave (no, it's not that simple but anyway...). We will have one computer with us, so I may check in every other day or so. House sitter is all arranged.
Have a good day!
Have done two loads of laundry; fed the deer and birds/squirrels/chipmunks; went to the grocery store to get more dried pineapple (didn't have any last night and was quite put out! It's as delicious to me as chocolate!) Took a shower and shampooed my hair, trimmed my bangs. Had to wear baggy pants because the only two pair of jeans I can wear (16's and getting loose) are in the wash. Wonder if I will fit into a size 14 at some point this Summer. Any size or weight less than that. I will start looking gaunt.
We won the baseball game last night, during the last two innings; had to go into the tenth inning because we were tied 10-10, with the NY Mets. Then our hero Ozzie Albies hit a 3 run homer, and we won 13-10. Another game tonight, but with a different team.
Hot dogs (take out) for supper, and hubby is bringing them in the house now!
Hope all y'all had a good day at work or retirement, are in good moods, able to sleep, and your days are 'smooth with a capital SMOO!' ?
We are getting a little rain today, which is needed, if anything, to wash the pollen out of the air and settle the dust. I took the dog for a car ride while I ran some errands. He thoroughly enjoyed the drive-up window at McD's, where I grabbed a breakfast sandwich and coffee and then sat at the park while he nosed around. We saw a woman walk by with a gorgeous Weimaraner who seemed quite friendly, but Angus wanted nothing to do with him. Then we drove on to drop off old garage chemicals at the toxic drop off place, then Value Village with old clothes. I tried to go to Trader Joes, but the parking lot looked like people driving bumper cars, so I gave up. I stopped to see sis, and she looked pretty good, not so dizzy. Then I picked up dh's order at JCPenney, and a grocery stop for dinner. And now he's out cold. I am hypnotized with looking at the news about yesterday's indictment.
Youngest ds was finally able to get a permanent position as a school bus driver. He's been a temp all Spring, but next year he'll be full-time with benefits. Hoorah! It's not something I ever thought he would do, but he seems to like it.
Take care everyone.
nursej22, congrats to your son for the full-time position!! Can't beat doing what one is content to do (and then to earn money and benefits, those are plus-es!!) My, you were BUSY! You sure got a lot done!
Lentil soup is cooling down so I can put it in containers and carry it out to the RV. Salad is done. I'm tired but still need to carry a bunch of other food items out to the RV. Will wait till the soup has cooled, so we can carry stuff out all in one "swell foop"*! (*fell swoop!) I have been to the grocery store and got the laundry done. Still need to pack (as well as load the RV). But, things are getting done. :)
Have a good evening!
Seems good to get things done in one swell foop!
Happy travels, dianah!
J22, congrats to your son on full-time employment with benefits!
Tweety, hope all went well with picking up the Tele monitor. That was nice of you.
Joe, you'll have to tell us all about the James Joyce bar.
Hubs is still having diarrhea and feeling (understandably) weak and run-down. A second visit to the NP left him with a clear liquid diet, some more bentyl, and a steroid cream for a thrombosed hemorrhoid. Leaving me to deal with Gma. This morning, she said, "Just the two of us again. Forever". Everything is "forever" or "forever amen" right now. And she's counting "2, 4, 6, she has 9 forever".
We are having showers off and on this morning which is quite peaceful and pleasant. I really want Hubs to get better -- for both selfish and unselfish reasons. I feel small and mean that I resent having to take care of Gma, but there you go.
The indictment is an interesting development. I wonder if he'll ever actually go to prison. I'm sure his followers will still defend him even then. Speaking of which, sister-in-law had her surgery yesterday. Biopsy results will take about 2 weeks but the surgeon is optimistic that she won't need follow-up treatment. She's an ardent Trump supporter and my brother is ...um... not.

NJ22 I tend to be the same, can't really sleep in anymore. I get up early to meditate
Stars that was good you were able to donate so many of her unused clothes. And those were good deals on those books
Ado I hope your DH recovers soon so he can help you more
Work was pretty good again yesterday, not too busy. Hoping for the same today, if I can avoid getting any new cases. Had virtual counseling as usual over lunch
Had a fairly small crowd for the book club gathering, but the food was good, and I'm not normally a fan of Indian food. Surprisingly we did not discuss the book, guess everyone is waiting until the regular meeting next week
Tonight might drop by a local bar, it's named for James Joyce so it's piqued my interest.
Will be a bit warmer today, up to the low 80s. Rain is still holding off
