Hi NJ22

Stars I agree, you've done what you can

Ado I've gotten busy and forgotten meetings too

Tweety hope your next shift is better

Dianah that's a pretty old cat

Work started fine but slowly got busier throughout the day.  Still managed  to get done on time, just barely.  Did the grocery shopping and had an online church vestry meeting

Tonight should be quiet, J and I won't be getting together, he's  busy helping an  elderly friend who's going in for cataract surgery.  We will be getting together Sunday

Another warm day here, in the upper 80s

Good morning!

Stars, I hope you were able to enjoy a lunch out and get your husband to go somewhere you like the food.

Off today.  Just doing routine stuff.  I need to go refill the dog's eye drops and that's a 30 minute drive that I'm not fond of making but the specialist is where he is.

Have a great day.

Joe, I guess I should put all meetings on my phone calendar or my Outlook calendar so I get reminders. I feel foolish when I forget. (or go an hour early for an appointment!)

Stars, is it your birthday? Happy birthday! And I hope you get to go out to a place of your choosing for lunch!

dianah, I don't want to be an alarmist but we lost a 19-yr-old cat 4 years ago to an oral cancer that first showed up as swelling in her lower jaw that I thought was a dental abscess. I'll have to find the picture I have of her when the swelling got extreme. It's a bit comical -- looks like a cartoon cat.

Thanks for the heads-up, Ado.   I hear ya.  This vet (who saw the cat about two years ago for same) does not recommend surgery, due to the cat's advanced age.

Happy Birthday No Stars, and I agree: hope you got to eat at a place of YOUR choosing!

Joe, nice you will be able to meet with J on Sunday.

Tweety, enjoy your day off.

Slept poorly last night.  Lots of restless legs.  Oh well.  At least I rested.

Have a good day!

I'm off the hook! ? YAY! I'm in a much lighter mood.

This is so weird, but the reason we aren't going out to lunch is that hubby has been constipated for 3-4 days, and he took an enema this A.M. ...."and it didn't work." he said.

So, anyway, I went back to bed because I had the dizzies and I had to wait for the Meclazine to work; got up at 1 PM. Hubby went out and got Nannie's Subway Sandwich and I told him to get one for me, also.

I feel in a lighter mood now, thank goodness. I am not going to do ANYTHING domestic.  As Sabby used to say, I intend to be a "SLOTH" today. ?

There is a baseball game tonight, and I've decided that "All's well with the world," regardless of whatever is in the news!!

As of 11:45 PM tonight, I will officially become 73 yrs old. HA!

wOOt!, indeed. I hope the dizzies have abated, and the rest of your birthday is pleasant. Go Braves!

Another nice day, now that the cloud layer has burned off. I actually had to put on a jacket this morning as I came to work. I am working on the discharge of our 2 active TB disease patients. this the first time in the four years I've been in this program that we will not have a single active case. Weird. We are trying to get the replacement for the crazy one trained up, but its tough when there are so few patients. We continue to screen some folks from Ukraine, but their deadline for required testing has changed from 14 to 90 days, so there is not the urgency. They continue to refuse polio vaccine though, and I see a case has occurred in Chicago. Gee thanks, anti-vaxxers.

Angus gave me a little scare this morning, he got up coughing and sort of wobbling on his legs, but it seemed to pass. I think I overdid his walk last night. I'm trying to go a little longer, but it seems to really wear him out. Poor lil' fella is 12 and has some heart valve issues. But he does love his walks.

That is an old cat! Yeah, I can see not wanting to do surgery. I hope the anti-inflammatory helps.

Subway sounds good, but there is a Hello Fresh box due today that I should use. I bought extra portions but youngest ds will be camping, so I have more food than I need.

My sub sandwich came with 5 small (letter) candles on top, spelling the word H-A-P-P-Y. The word 'birthday' wouldn't fit on it because the sandwich was just a six inch sub. ?  I also got a bouquet of Crazy Daisies, which I have always liked.

Then I decided I would search for a movie (even a stupid one) on HBO or SHO, regardless of Nannie being planted, as usual, in her recliner. If she didn't want to watch it, she could close her eyes. I picked a movie with Richard Pryor, named "Critical Condition". I saw it a long time ago; not particularly 'good' per se, but it fit the requirement of a stupid movie! It was full of the big cuss words: effs and mo-effs. After it was over Nannie asked how they could get away with playing that language on TV. I said that on cable-aired movies they don't put in any "BLEEPS". She won't remember in an hour that she even saw the movie.

And speaking of old cats....I had a Home Health patient whose family had a 29 year old cat. They had pics from a camera that printed the dates on the photos, and this cat was a kitten in those pics. The cat was kinda deaf and if you heard a yowl from another part of their home, you'd go and find the cat and bring it back to a room with its people or dogs in it. I got that cat to let me trim it's nails, which I HAD to do because just walking, they snagged on the carpets. They couldn't believe I got it to let me do that, but I'd love on it, then snip a nail or 3 and go back to the petting it and scratching its head and neck; then a few more nails. But, to me the most amazing thing about this 29 year-old cat was it could actually jump straight up onto the kitchen counters, with one leap.

Thank you all for my birthday wishes!

Unless anyone at home surprises me, we'll do a Hello Fresh meal this evening.

Yeah, I did let the vet biopsy our cat's jaw after treating with antibiotics didn't help. So we knew it was cancer but there really wasn't much to do for her, especially given her age. When she reached the point where she wasn't really able to eat and drink we took her in for euthanasia. This was a few weeks before my dad died. At the time my stepson was having a serious mental breakdown so I was feeling like Dad's house had become a senior living center, mental health crisis center, and feline hospice. Dad's death (4 years ago today; I guess that's why it's on my mind) was a bit of a surprise, as much as it can be at age 92.

Twin B took one of our dogs to the vet today, as it was time to update vaccinations and heartworm prevention. The other dog went 2 weeks ago. I spread them out because $$$$. The girls are both 13 and Darby is really slowing down. She refuses to go for walks. But she will sneak across the street when outside if I don't pay close enough attention. I think her hearing is impaired and she moves slowly so this could be really dangerous.

I don't think Minnie would mind if this makes us chuckle a little. Poor baby.

Awww, poor Minnie! I had a cat once who had a similar chin-lump. Fortunately it was something that could be drained and healed up w/ antibiotics. Take care and feel better, Minnie Meow.
