Stars I can understand the frustration and the need to let it out
Dianah that this an interesting display for sure
Hi Tweety
NJ22 that is frustrating the the insurance delays continue
Work was worse than expected. 2 news cases, a mandatory meeting that was largely a waste of time, and computer problems which delayed me and had me on the phone with tech support. Thankfully being remote I could listen to the meeting while doing other work, which helped me catch up. And by the end of the day I was caught up, but rather tired
Didn't help that I had to get out the carpet cleaner as the cat had vomited rather extensively. Although to be fair the last few weeks it has been getting less common
After work exercised and made the cinnamon tortilla crisps, a simple recipe but one which required a fair amount of work, as a dozen flour tortillas had to be covered in melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon, then cut into wedges and baked
Today hoping things will be more normal at work. After getting quite frustrated yesterday I'm feeling calm today. The gay group is having their potluck tonight, wonder what the turnout will be with snow expected
Will be in the mid 20s today with snow starting this evening and continuing on and off until Sunday morning

Good morning!
Joe, hope you have a more normal day at work.
Slept in until 7:00AM which is late. The dog tried to alert me it was past breakfast time but I was slow to acknowledge her. Working this weekend.
Got a new debit card out of the blue it's one of those tap ones but they changed the last four numbers so I had to update my grocery store app, Google Pay and things like my monthly bills to Netflix, Spotify and the pet's wellness plan. Utilities, mortgage and cable are taken out of the checking directly. It's still worth it not to get paper bills and to use my phone at check out.
Off today for one day. Will try to do some cooking and scheduled a haircut.

Happy Valentine's Day!
That was a bizarre display, dianah!
I don't want to leave this warm weather but here I sit at the airport waiting to go home. I *know* that the cold spell(s) won't last much longer and soon it will be nice in OK but for the near future it is cold.
Yesterday we were free for the afternoon so I went to a public beach. Got blisters on my feet from walking in the sand. It was enjoyable, though smelled like low tide (and stogies). Had to be careful where I stepped as there were quite a few dead ... things. On the island there was a lot of damage from Hurricane Ian. Lots of construction. And quite a few places that looked unharmed.

Happy valentine's day. I'm celebrating in Colorado. It's cold and windy here but even on cloudy days there's more sun.

The weather will be 44-50 degrees and sunshine, which, of course, is VERY BRIGHT!
Got Nannie to bed last night at 9:30 PM, but then she woke up three times, making Momo sound the alert 3X.....so I was up again at 2:30, 3:30 and 4:45 AM. Each time, she had gotten up and made her bed and went to her recliner, so I put her back to bed 3x.
Then I went downstairs at 8:30 to feed Momo because she was restless, and "using her inside voice" to wake me up. Turns out, there was Nannie UP AGAIN! 😫 I gave Nannie her breakfast and meds, and came back upstairs. After I lay in bed a short while I decided it would probably be a good idea to get her dressed and back to the recliner, with a light blanket to use if she got chilly. What made me decide to get up again to do her AM routine done was that I was afraid she'd climb out of the recliner by sitting on the footrest. So I did that, hoping that once my caregiving conscience was cleared, I could actually fall back to sleep. I did stay warm and relaxed but the actual 'sleep' was more or less hovering right above falling back to sleep. I finally gave it up at noon. Peeked down into the den and saw Nannie's head tipped to the side which is her 'default' sleeping position.
Now it is almost 1 PM and I am hankering for another cup of coffee and something for a breakfasty-nibble. Will be putting on my socks and shoes, and then toting this laptop, my cell phone and my notebook "brain" down to the den.
And so the day begins........ for the 5th or 6th time. And it isn't even Groundhog Day!

Hello all!
Got some good rain yesterday evening/night, and while there is some sunshine today, we will likely get more rain. The eagle is hunkered down on her nest, covered with snow! Apparently she maintains a 105 degree temperature/body heat, for the eggs.
Terrible sleep last night. Maybe got two hours in. So, a nap is certainly in order today.
Happy Valentine's Day to all! We wish each other a happy day, but usually don't do much. Dh knows I love getting flowers but hate watching them die. And we don't need the calories/fat from candy. So, yeah. TMI, right? LOL!
Yes, that was a bizarre display, now that I've had time to contemplate it. Probably not the most sensitive choice of Valentines display. Apologies if anyone here was offended by it.
OK, nap soon!
Have a good day!
No offense here! Just a wow, that's weird.
I read about an eagle cam where yhe eagles died and those who know about these things say it was likely due to bird flu. So they've been watching the parents worrying that they would get sick but they seem to be doing fine.
I read about those eagles, too, Ado. So sad. The Big Bear and Catalina Island eagles appear to be thriving.
I made some Mushrooms Paprikash, for future meals. I kinda tweaked the recipe, as I couldn't locate the one I liked. I put in 1 Tbsp each of Hungarian Paprika and Smoked Paprika. In tasting it, after all was added, I didn't care for the taste of the smoked paprika, so will likely leave that out in the future, and just add 1 Tbsp plain Paprika, plus the Hungarian Paprika. Then I cleaned some kitchen areas that needed attention, which I'd been neglecting: under the disposal rubber flaps and the dish drainer. I culled containers out of the dish drainer, and filed them in the cupboard in the appropriate place. I did get a load of wash done, too. So, that's good for me!
No rain yet but it looks threatening. We have no plans for this weekend. I hope you all stay safe and warm.
Have a good evening!
I hate to sound like the woman who owns this house.....I can't tell you if I feel hungry or like I want to throw up. Seriously! My stomach is in a knot from drowning in Nannie-isms, and having to be here all the time.
But with her, like, for instance, she does not know and can not tell me if she peed or pooped in the bathroom. She can't even say the words "poop" or "BM" or "bowels' ; she just gestures to her belly and makes her hands move downward and says "You know." She told me, three out of the 8 times I have walked her into the bathroom, that I might as well let her sit there because she was probably going to need to be sitting there for a while. Then less than 35 seconds after I sat on the sofa to wait for her, she got up and pulled up her britches, then back out to the den. She told me when I asked if she had pooped, "yes." but there was nothing in the toilet bowl and she hadn't peed, or flushed, 🙄 I would bet that the minute after she told me she would be sitting there a while, she forgot why she was in there! That is sad.
She also told me that the people on the TV (HGTV House Hunters) were not helping her at all to go to the bathroom. Can you even imagine?!
I realized today, had an epiphany, like a slap in the face, that one of the reasons it makes me so crazy to spend all day and evening with Nannie, is that there are NO adult conversations, NO casual chatting, NO responses to remarks about something on TV. For instance, I told her, (during the news about the Pope being in the hospital), that I had read that when the Pope was a young man, not a priest yet, he worked as a bouncer in a nightclub! Well, I thought that was a kind of interesting, but she frowned and shook her head like she was disgusted by something. It was a strange reaction, I mean, I would've at least come up with a "Huh!" But, with dementia, that's not even a realistic wish. I just realized my head feels like life is shrinking and fading. It frustrates me incredibly not being able to even share any light humor or pertinent thoughts or opinions.
Yada-yada-ker-phooey-ratz-jiminy-crickets- PPpppffffftttttt!
Hurrah! It is bedtime for her, like NOW!!
