Dianah sounds like a nice Christmas

Ado that was nice that you served as a greeter

Hi Tweety

Thankfully not a crazy day at work, despite one coworker being off.  Was a bit busy in the morning but quieter by the end of the day

Rest of the day was pretty quiet, stopped at the pharmacy and library after work

Today should be even quieter after work.  Looking forward to an ordinary weekend tomorrow, after the busyness of Christmas Eve and the previous weekend.  We still have to get together with my sister's family to exchange gifts but we're still waiting to see when they're available for that

Think it will be rainy and unusually warm today, up to 50

Good morning!

Supposed to be 75 degrees today but it's cloudy.

Workers are here taking off my old roof.  Already there's been a $1200 because some of the prior roof is underneath the current roof and it's additional work to get that off.  Plus the project manager and part of the crew has the flu, but at least things are being started and it will be a going project for a while.  Sure is noisy.  The last time this happened I was working night shift, so at least I'm awake.

Otherwise, a usual day off.  Working tomorrow and then a new schedule comes out and I'm off Sunday.  I'm not in charge tomorrow.  In fact, I'm doing much less charge on the next schedule.  Wonder if that's a sign I will not get the job I applied for as a permanent charge.  Frankly after the day I had being in charge without a secretary yesterday where I'm everyone's house slave, they can have it.  I'm actually questioning my life choices again.  LOL

Have a great day.

I am up and dressed, but not necessarily awake. Nannie came out of the bedroom as I was coming downstairs, but I am making her wait in the recliner while I pull myself together. I am working on a cup of much needed coffee, and then I will start in with getting her washed and dressed.

It's going to be a high of 42 degrees today, with intermittent showers. Since I did a HONKIN' HUGE purchase of groceries yesterday, I don't have to go out today. Hoping there is a larger half of Nannie's  Lexapro in her morning meds, so she will nap. We'll see, when I get her breakfast tray and the prepoured (by the pharmacy) meds set up.

However, I in a short while I AM going to go out to the convenience store and purchase a couple of mega-millions tickets or which ever thing they are drawing again tonight. Can't imagine winning the huge amount in the pot, but I'm going to try ... to win. Maybe I need to start imagining a win after all!

Okay, can't put it off any longer....to the Nannie-chores.................

The very expensive half-gallon of milk that I bought at a convenience store Christmas night (it had a date of 12/25 on it) turned out to be curdled. Probably just as well that I didn't also buy a lottery ticket for that YUUGE pot, but I did think about it.

Had a one-year follow-up with the cardiologist who approved stopping metoprolol and agreed I could see her on an as-needed basis, but did order a sleep study. Humph.

Now to call the vet about getting the cat seen again...who has time to work? But I'm trying.

It's youngest ds's birthday today and he is going to make his own cake. Dh's bd is in 3 days. We talked about going out for dinner, but haven't made firm plans yet. Weather has been the usual drippyness. The local ski area has gotten 3 feet! Another big wind storm coming in over the weekend.
I finished the jigsaw puzzle yesterday that we started on Christmas. Dh watched a Star Wars marathon, that I watched off and on, between naps and noshing. I should go do some yard cleanup, after this cuppa joe.

Hello all!

Slept very poorly last night.  Earlier in the day I tackled a pile of papers and shredded them all.  I think I stirred up some dust, for I was sneezing and blowing my nose most of the night.  Between last night and a midday nap, I got 4.5 hours of sleep.  I just made some lentil soup for our supper the next couple days (until I can get to the store to get supplies for another dish to make.  Lentil soup, I made with items I had on hand).

I made some ranch dressing the other day, it turned out tasty!  The recipe called for using greek yogurt (not mayonnaise) and sour cream and buttermilk (I made it with milk and vinegar), plus the seasonings.   Only thing I didn't have (besides buttermilk) was chives, so I skipped putting 'em in (figured the onion powder would give that flavor).

Not much else going on here.  Have a good evening!
