Oh WOE is me! This morning, my Keurig coffee-maker has given up the ghost; the pod swelled up and spewed coffee grounds, and only dripped a little water. All the selection lights came back on mid-cycle, all at the same time, and it did not respond when I chose one. I could not even turn it on or off with the power button. The only thing to do was unplug it and drop my head in mourning. I will be purchasing a replacement TODAY! But meanwhile I will be a coffee-less stumblebum 😯.
When I woke up and got up, I thought it was 10 minutes to 2 PM, and was like "Whoa! How did I sleep so late?!" Then after a third disbelieving check of a larger clock, I saw it was 10 minutes after ten. Whew! I'd love to get dressed and hightail it over to Walmart to get a new coffee-maker as my 'Christmas present' to myself, but am undecided if that is a good idea; it would be an easier choice if the Walmart was closer and it wasn't Friday and full of Christmas shoppers. And if Nannie (still in bed) was trustworthy enough to leave as is and go do the errand.
I'd better just get dressed and go get her dressed and haul her off to sit in the car while I get the new coffeemaker. Whaddaway to start my day. 🤨
🐎 Tally-ho!
Awwww, I hope you can find the coffeemaker you want, No Stars! Honestly, that's how a lot of my Christmas gifts appear: something I need, so I get it and label it "for Christmas!"
Oooooo, SNOW!! Are you comfortable driving in snow, Joe? I assume the answer is yes, facing it each year! Enjoy its beauty (but stay warm)!
It was good to see former co-workers yesterday, and the potluck was good. The dip disappeared, so I (thankfully) didn't have to bring home any leftovers! My case management partner loved it, went back for seconds! I got to try a friend's apple-cranberry-pecan bundt cake (delicious!).
Today I will (again!) get some groceries to make something for our evening meals. We have one container of chicken tomatillo soup that is thawing in the fridge. I may make a sun-dried tomato-spinach creamy pasta dish. And I may make more of the cranberry-jalapeno dip, for us.
Tonight I am planning to attend our church's Blue Christmas service. They hold it every year, as a help to those navigating grief/sorrow at Christmas. I wanted to go last year, after my sister's death, but something came up and I was not able to go. This year, I want to go in remembrance of her, and of our dear friend who died this year, the leader of our music group. It's just something I want to do.
Weather app forecasts 79 degrees today! Most Christmas days in the past, it has been 72. So, I guess this is "normal" for us. May get some 'Winter' weather come January and February.
Have a good day!
dianah, that dip does sound good.
Stars, I hope by now you have replaced the coffeemaker and had a cuppa!
I did not want to get up and going this morning so made it a very late morning. Have asked Hubs to assist me/nag me/ stop short of pouring cold water on me with getting up and out in the mornings for awhile.
It's a bit colder here today and probably won't reach 50. Looks like clouds and rain for Christmas with a high around 57.
The "boys" have gone to a movie then they're meeting friends for dinner. Hubs and I will go sing carols at the orchestra concert this evening and the Gma-sitter is coming to sit with Gma. Our church had a Blue Christmas service last night. I didn't go but thought maybe I should just to be supportive.
I have antibiotics for Turbo. The vet couldn't tell if there is a mass in her upper jaw but there's infection from something, possibly a bad tooth. So we'll hope to improve the infection and see where we go from there.
Not having a great day. When we got home last night, we discovered that the dogs had gotten into some freshly baked cookies and consumed all but one. They started having diarrhea in the night, and I was up several times to let them out. This morning they started vomiting. It turns out pecans are toxic for dogs. Finally my afternoon they seemed to feel better. Dh sent me out shopping because he thought I should get out of the house. I couldn't find anything I wanted and then got in an accident. I'm okay, but waiting for AAA. I want this day to be over.

NJ22 that is a lot of baking
Dianah that dip sounds good
Stars hope the arthritis calms down again
Work was busier than expected, with a new case for me and for the person I am covering for, and documents and emails. Got a bit crazy but it all got done
After work was quiet, which was good as it started to snow pretty hard in the evening
Today hoping work will be a little quieter. Nothing planned for after work except perhaps brushing the snow off the car and exercising
Think it will remain in the low 30s, although it will be a bit colder by tomorrow
