Stars I'm glad the new caregiver seems good, hopefully she proves more reliable than the previous one

Tweety I hope you next shift is better

NJ22 wildfire smoke was a major problem here earlier this month

Hi Dianah

Yesterday started well at work, but then things started getting crazy, with lots of documents to review and even more emails.  At one point had to involve the manager as I was being asked to do something I know we aren't allowed to do.  But it all did get resolved.

Rest of the day was thankfully quiet, just exercised. Also sent some emails, working on setting up a architectural walking tour downtown for the gay group, think I have it mostly figured out.  Will discuss it at the meeting of the activity committee next month and get the final OK

Today have a coworker off, so it could be bad, but hoping that given a holiday weekend things will prove slow.  Nothing really planned for after work

Going to be a bit cooler today, in the low 70s. Haven't had to use the AC all week

It is 2:15 PM and I have stayed in bed so far alllll day, scrolling and trolling on line, But now I have to get up, get dressed, walk Tinker, and prepare my head to go pick up Nannie from daycare. I still haven't washed any dishes or laundry. Pfft!

Good morning!

Hope today isn't crazy Joe.

I watched The Thursday Murder Club on Netflix today.  Enjoyed it.

Mowed the grass as well.  It's been so rainy it was overgrown but glad to get it done.  Went to the grocery store and forgot some items so I may go back since I'm working the next three days.

Have a great day!

Hello all!

We had a short power outage at around 8 this morning.  Now the microwave won't heat.  All the lights are lit, and it makes the appropriate noises, as if heating is going on -- but the item being heated remains cold.  Cold, cold, cold.  We looked into "microwave repair near me" but honestly, that would probably be as expensive as a new one.  Our last one, given to us by friends, lasted probably 30 years.  This one has lasted three.  Go figure.  Ordered one from Amazon, it will be here tomorrow.

We are meeting oldest ds today for lunch out.  Dunno where yet.  It will soon be dh and my 50th anniversary, we can call this the anniversary lunch!  Monday we have band practice, for an Oct. program.

No Stars, good you got in some down time.  I hope Nannie goes to bed on time or early tonight!

Have a good evening!

I've been interested in watching The Thursday Murder Club, too. Maybe Hubs would watch it with me this weekend. He has always liked Helen Mirren.

Twin A has a recipe for almond croissants that he wants to try this weekend. Darn whoever bought him that cookbook from the video game 🙂 If we can manage any skill at making them, I'm sure they'll be good, just a lot of work.

Hooray for a new Thursday caregiver! If I had to be with Gma all day every day I would post frequently about that, too. The finger-licking continues. She tends to get skin tears on her arms and then won't leave the bandages on. And lately the ottoman needs to be upside down, for some reason. I don't know if it's just in the way or what.

Finally finished reading about the 1900 hurricane. I'd like to visit Galveston again. My brother lives not far from there. Maybe when we are free to travel again...

Now back to finishing My Dear Hamilton since my hold finally came through.

Croissants are indeed a lot of work. And they are so delicious they get gobbled up before they can cool.

That's ONE of the reasons I quit making bread. When it came out of the oven I never waited long enough for the loaf to cool before I was tearing it apart and slathering on the butter!

The other reason was not very fun....I had tendonitis in both wrists, which years later a doc told me I actually had had a severe case of carpel tunnel. So much for self-diagnosis!

I always enjoyed baking and eating bread.  Have never made croissants, though YES, they are so delicious!  I will be interested to know how their construction goes!
