NJ22 fresh vegetables are always nice

Dianah I don't think I've heard of that way of cooking corn before

Stars glad you were able to eventually find your way

Tweety that seems awkward, having the charge serve as unit secretary

Work wasn't too bad in the morning, although I got a flood of emails in the afternoon. Mostly from the insurance adjusters, probably because they leave early today because of the holiday.  Hopefully today will be a bit slower

The counselor agreed it was time to stop regular counseling, so we'll wind things down next month.  Was less nervous about this decision than I had expected, given how reluctant I am to change things

Rest of the day was fairly normal.

Today nothing unusual going on, glad it's a three day weekend for me

Going to be a warm day, upper 80s, fair amount of rain expected

Good morning!

I always thought of therapy like a harbor.  The idea is to get to the harbor, unload what you don't need, replenish what you do need and not stay in the harbor but to go back out to sea.

Slept about 45 minutes past the dogs breakfast but Waffles wasn't waiting anymore and getting restless.  Glad to have gotten the sleep.

Am planning on mowing the yard that has been rain fed this rainy season.  One day off before working the weekend.  Two more days of being in charge and then working the floor next week.

Have a great day!

Hello all!

Thanks for your good vibes, I did sleep better last night. 🙂

Tweety, I like your example of therapy being like a harbor.

No Stars, I would NOT like getting lost in an unfamiliar area!!  You did well to find your way back home!  I hope today is a low-drama day with Nannie.  Give some scratches to Momo for me, please?

We have to practice our three songs sometime today - the ones we will be doing at tomorrow's campmeeting church service.  Will be wearing jeans to play in, which will be weird.  But, it's casual campmeeting!

Dh is arranging for a Zoom call with the ds's sometime this weekend, which will be nice.

Not much else going on here.  Have a good day!

I got the days mixed up in yesterday's post, but oh well! It IS Friday today. SiL came over and gave Nannie a shower and got her dressed, then she left for one of her part-time jobs.  Around 2 PM I decided I needed to go out and put gas in the car, and make sure I have enough milk, Pepsi, tea, cranberry juice and Nannie's Poise pads....all the things we need to get through a long 3 day holiday weekend.

It is wicked hot and humid again. I left Nannie in the car w/ the AC on, (parked out of the sun) so she could watch people coming and going from the grocery store. Also went to the bank, the post office, the gas station, but I didn't have to go to the drugstore.

SiL delivered our supper when she came over earlier, we will be having meatloaf, squash, cole-slaw, and melon pieces. The freezer is also loaded, so I don't have to actually COOK anything, just nuke it. Nannie gets fruit and a chocolate, or key-lime pie. I picked her up some AZO, just-in-case she has started again to pee about a thousand times. We won't be able to get a clean urine spec until I get a hat and a spec bottle from the doc's office on Tuesday.

I finally got Nannie to try napping ....I had to tell her there was nothing else going on today, nobody would be coming over. I said there are 3 hours 'til suppertime, so she can REST. I had to tell her three times, slowly and distinctly, before I knew she heard me correctly. Usually after the first time, she will say, "Now, what did you say?" so I know I will have to say it a couple more times so it sinks in. It doesn't stick around in her brain for very long, but once I put the little pillow behind her neck, and a small lap-robe over her hands and chest, she got the idea. Her eyes are closed but she's not asleep yet. Fingers crossed that she will slide a little deeper into The Land of Nod.

Since I am starved to death, I'm going to eat my SiL delivered supper early....it will be my breakfast and lunch. My 'supper', I may skip, and just nosh on a few small snacky things when I go up to read in bed, after I put Nannie to bed.  I eat some nuts and some fruit and have a glass of milk, sometimes some popcorn, all in very reasonable amounts, so I'm not pigging out and then going to sleep on a full stomach.

Okay, so that's all for now----

Hope everyone's day is going well.

I often say that GPS has changed my life because I can find places and find my way back home. I still get anxious in unfamiliar territory.

We've had a bit of a cold front and it's currently 82 degrees. Hubs has arranged for the Gma sitter to come tomorrow from 9 to 5 and, weather permitting (meaning no lightning, high wind, or heavy rain) we will go sailing!

We're having a "mock" survey Tuesday and Wednesday so I might spend some time at the hospital working on some things the rest of the weekend.

I experimented over the last couple of weeks with my medication. The small dose of metoprolol that the cardiologist started caused such a dry mouth and dry eyes that I decided to stop it and see if things got better. They did. Still dry but not as dramatically so. However, the palpitations were pretty frequent and I don't particularly like that feeling, even being assured that it is not dangerous. So I'm taking it again and will have to find ways of coping with the dryness.

Gma was restless last night, getting up a couple of times. She was also apparently pretty hungry when I was cooking dinner because she stood there watching me, especially as I cut out biscuits and put them on the baking sheet. I told here they needed to cook first but who knows what she actually comprehends. She says things like "I never get anything" while I'm trying to tell her we will have some dinner in just a few minutes! She ate her meal and was still hungry and wanting something so Hubs made her a peanut butter sandwich. I haven't done anything about having a birthday cake for today. Maybe I should do that. I do have a brownie mix but I think we need a cake.

Yes, GPS has helped a lot, especially when driving out of state. It seems crazy how we drove to Disneyland twice, just using one of those gas station maps. We drove once to Grand Canyon, Phoenix, Death Valley, LA, Eureka, then home. I printed off directions from Mapquest for each leg.
Nice day here, but didn't go quite as planned. I drove big sis to her procedure to get a portacath, but after 1 1/2 hours they cancelled and I picked her up. No one told her to stop her exedrin 5 days before, and she takes it daily for back pain. They only said to stop blood thinners and sis didn't know that included aspirin. She was not happy.
I tried to trim a hedge and cut the electrical cord. Oops. I turned to reading my book, because I'm afraid to touch anything.
dh's tummy is acting up, I'll just have a sandwich for dinner.
