Stars I don't get a lot of spam calls, I think many go to my landline phone which has the ringer off.  I just check periodically to see if there are any messages

NJ22 I tried golf when I was younger but never got the hang of it

Dianah Singin in the Rain is a favorite musical of mine

Tweety glad you have today off

Work ended up being surprisingly busy yesterday, bunch of documents and another new case.  A little tense but got it all done, and it helped bring my hours billed up to where it should be at this point in the month

After work had a Zoom meeting for a political group, then exercised.  Figured out how to send a poll to people in the over 50 group interested in a zoo outing I'm planning, so I can figure out which day works best.  Also found out that local libraries have a limited number of zoo passes available

Today have a coworker out so hopefully work won't get too crazy.  Will make some tomato bruschetta, either during lunch or after work, for a potluck with the gay group.  A nice easy recipe

Bit warmer today, in the low 50s

Good morning.

Love bruschetta.  Enjoy your day Joe.

Dianah, guess it's a good thing you're retired with that sleep disorder.  I finally had to go on medication because I couldn't sleep on work days.  Maybe when I retire I can get off of it.

Stayed up late unwinding but fell asleep and stayed asleep almost 7 hours.  Unusual for me.  Was going to do some continuing education from home for work that's overdue but I'm not in the mood and scheduled a haircut instead.  Will go to the gym and cook something.  Have sheets in the wash and will do laundry.

My refrigerator is still not working right and I have someone coming Tuesday.  Which I could get them here earlier but I have to go through the warranty and it is what it is.

I go through spells when I get a lot of spam calls and spells when I don't.  Thankfully I'm in a spell without many spam calls.  I haven't had a land line in over a decade and don't miss it.  Just deposited a check from best friend for "rent" with my phone.  I don't have an alarm clock anymore, just my phone.  I ordered a couple of things from Amazon on my phone at work and it was here when I got home (at 21:00).  Fascinating how I take it for granted but how different the last decade has become.

Got a notice that my escrow account for my mortgage may be short when hurricane/homeowners becomes due in May as rates typically go up "15%".  I had anticipated this already and put money in last month so there's enough.  Thankfully my insurance isn't going up 15% but maybe 5%.  Hoping for a mild hurricane season.  But also with all the fires and floods going on around the country insurance isn't going to be cheap ever again.

Nice surprise yesterday when Chatty CG arrived, and she said she will be working EVERY Thursday afternoon from now on. 😀

Today I had to get up early....used 1/2 hour after alarm clock first went off, to keep hitting the snooze button. After that I resigned myself to having to get up. Got the Nannie-person up and dressed. Gave her meds and yogurt; she often gets breakfast at the Day Care Center. BiL took her to daycare this AM; SiL will pick her up after she gets off work this afternoon, Maybe she'll take her to have a new color of polish to be painted on her nails, but I dunno.

I do need to make a stop at a grocery store, because Nannie goes through her yogurts and Momo goes through her food/treats.....those things are given only once a day for each of them, but it seems even when I buy multiple containers, SUDDENLY THEY ARE ALL GONE! 🙄 My theory is that my father-in-laws 'ghost' is playing tricks on me and taking some of the products away just to confound me! 😋 I can hear him chuckling now!

This AM we had an early thunderstorm and then a WALL of rain. Then it stopped and the sun came out. Now it is clouding up again, and is 'posta start raining again in about 2 hours.

I read online that China (or parts of China) are having such ^^^ strong mph winds, that they are telling people to stay inside today....ESPECIALLY if they weigh 110 lbs or less, as they risk the chance of literally being blown away! I'm used to the weathermen here feeling obliged to tell us if we need coats or umbrellas, but never have heard them say "Don't go out if you are a tiny pipsqueak!" YIKES!

Welp I had grits and shrimp with bacon bits for breakfast.....it was kind of 'meh' but I would say it's my faulty taste-buds that made it so. I have never been a big "GRITS" fan. There was a comedian (way while ago) who said that grits were actually just bleached and boiled coffee grounds. (it seems true sometimes!)

Anywayz, I have to get up and get going so I can come back SOON....lest it decides to rain and pour again.

I like grits, but with butter and brown sugar -- not traditional, I know!

I got decent HOURS of sleep last night, broken up once, but the cycle started around 2, broke up at 6, started at 7,...  yada yada yada.  Yes, Tweety, I'm glad I'm retired since I do have sleep issues.  They started up a few years before I retired.  I recall going to work more than once, on 2 or 3 hours of sleep.  I will take meds if we have an event the next day and I REALLY need to get to sleep before it.

It's another warm day, in the upper 80's and clear.  We were planning on going to Disneyland today but dh developed a cold so we cancelled that reservation.  This Sunday is Dapper Day, which we love going to, however (I think I have mentioned this) ALL the Magic Key Passes were blocked out on that day -- except the highest tier (which we don't have).  Same for their Dapper Day November date.  Poor arranging on Disney's part.  The Dapper Day ppl arranged the dates over a year ago, before the Magic Pass Calendars were published.  Then, after the Calendars were revealed, they realized both Dapper Days were NOT inclusive of Magic Passholders.  We will miss going, but it's not the end of the world, and we will make our own Dapper Day when we go.

We have the Big Bear eagle nest on the TV now.  The chicks are getting so big, and are getting pin feathers!  They are starting to self-feed, so soon all Ma and Pa* (*Jackie and Shadow) need to do will be to provide the fish or whatever.  They will often provide 10-12 fish per day!  AI (via Google) says the mature eagles can eat 1-2lb of fish per day; the babies eat less.  I love the view from their nest, with the lake in the background!

Well, I have a load of laundry started, and one more to follow.  Will do some cleaning today.  Not much else is planned!

Have a good day/evening!

Many things can be improved by the addition of butter and brown sugar. 😉

It's in the mid-70s (cue the disco music) and sunny and should be warm/sunny all weekend. Winds blow in cooler air Sunday night but apparently no precipitation expected. I plan to separate my hostas since they are looking a bit crowded. The other evening Hubs and I sat outside to enjoy the warmth and sunshine. Binx was out, too, and came running up carrying a mole he had caught. Our poor dogs used to dig all over the yard trying to catch a mole but I don't think they were ever successful.

I enjoyed grits in New Orleans, but it's not something I grew up eating. We had some at  Mothers Restaurant served with debris, which is like pot roast and gravy. Soooo good. dh likes corn meal mush, I am not a fan.

Moderate day here, in the 70s. One of the other volunteer gardeners and I went rose bush shopping for the demo garden. The nursery was across the road from some tulip fields, that were gorgeous with pink and purple blooms. We picked out 3.

I came home for lunch. I need to get off my rear and go clean up the back yard. I had a weird scratchy throat and sore mouth yesterday, is better today. I need to file the taxes. I am waiting until the last minute because we owe a little bit. I've gotten sucked into watching The White Lotus.

On a topic from a few days ago, I am not very organized, at least in terms of setting up a system myself. I have sort of given up at home, because I feel like no one else seems able to put anything back where they find it, and I refuse to pick up behind others. I spent many years doing that when the kids were little, and I'm done with that. I like working in an organized tidy place and appreciate when someone else has set it up. At my last job I had to share office space with someone who was a hoarder and stuff was everywhere, and it so overwhelming. I have gotten good at just ignoring it.

Spam and phishing comes in waves. My phone is pretty good at screening for it. Lately I've been getting texts about fake parking tickets and unpaid phone bills. I almost never answer a phone number I don't know.
