NJ22 glad to hear that you're nearly a master gardener

Ado glad the storms seem to have missed you

Dianah that salad sounds interesting.   Thanks for sharing the pictures

Tweety that was shame to be woken up by a mistaken alert

Stars understandable why it wasn't a good day for you, would be nice the if counseling appointment was not so far off

Busy day at work, though not too bad overall.  Today may be busy too, someone is off and I have a new case.  Will try not to get too crazy

After work  did grocery shopping before the storms,  which weren't too bad, as well as laundry

Tonight will finish packing for Madison tomorrow. As I had expected J is still not well enough to go out, though at least he went to the doctor, hopefully the medications help

Will cancel tomorrow's bike rental, will be in the low 40s in Madison tomorrow.  Will  rent a bike the next time I'm there,  hopefully it  will  be warmer then

Will get up to the upper 60s today I think

Good morning. Yesterday afternoon the wind picked up and the rain came in, and it continued into today. After class we toured a vegetable farm that is staffed mainly with volunteers that gives away all of its produce to various food banks and community meal programs. Last year was a down year but they still produced 90,000 pounds of food. Very inspiring!

I am so sorry, Stars. I am glad you can enjoy your books and crossword puzzles, and feeding the birds. Feel free to come here for venting and virtual hugs.

Thank you for sharing the pictures, Dianah! Are you anywhere near the "big bloom" of wild flowers I've been hearing about? It would be nice to hear that some good could come of all the precipitation you've had.

How rude to get a 4:30 am false alarm! Your hearts of palm salad/ceviche sounds yummy, but I doubt dh would even try it. I made tartar sauce for his fish sticks last night that ds said was good, but dh declined to try it.

Annie, those tornadoes sound terrifying! But yeah, a shelter sounds very expensive. I'm glad you were OK. I saw some pictures on line. {{Shudder}}.

I've no plans for today. I have clothes in the washer, I've cleaned one bathroom, one to go. Such excitement! I may even get crazy and go pick my prescriptions.

Have fun in Madison, Joe.

Oh, the laundry! I will be back after I fold some dry stuff and dump another load in the washer. Wheeee!

I'm back! While I was folding and hanging Nannie's laundry, I got on a tear and took all the empty hangers off the rod, then I started pulling out clothes she NEVER wears, and 16 pairs of socks that are too small around the ankles. Found 3 girdles that she couldn't squeeze into if she tried, and 4 bras she never wears. Got a trash bag full of clothes to take over to the women's shelter store. She also has a bunch of very nice wool (boucle?) blazers and fancy suit jackets, but I left them at the far end of the clothes rod. I know she can't fit into them, but she is PROUD of them, so I let them be; as long as she can SEE them, she'll be happy.

Wonder why I can't do all that clothes sorting, etc in my own closet? Oh well.

A woman who used to work at the closest convenience store came by yesterday and gave hubby some of the respiratory-inhalant prescriptions (meds) which he takes, but they are quite expensive. Anyway, she is off them now and hated to "waste" the prescriptions. Not exactly Kosher, but she is on some kind of program where she doesn't have to pay for some meds, and gives the resp ones to hubby until her prescription expires.

Her 4 year old boy calls hubby up sometimes and says, "I love you, Papaw." Once in a while I get a small toy that hubby can give him or send over to him via his mom. Hubby had met her on the day her dad died, shortly after she'd had her baby, and she has 'adopted' hubby because he was so kind to her; and she decided her son needed a "Papaw".

The Siesta Twins are in their recliners, eyes closed, lightly snoring. More laundry loads to switch....

Braves baseball game is on at 7:20 PM.

Ha!  I like that: The Siesta Twins!

nursej22, we are probably 1-2 hours from the superblooms.  I am enjoying seeing photos of them on FB!  I posted one that was a view from space, noting the large orange-yellow area of the superbloom!  From space!

I got a couple things at the grocery store then picked up the mail.  Then made more of the hearts-of-palm ceviche, and in cleaning out the fridge, decided to use some of the older veggies and make lentil soup.  So, that's done (while dh did the online jam).

I keep picking up new recipes to try.  I see them on FB, then save them to my page.  I will later scroll through my page, and write down the recipes, then shop for them and try them out.

We got invited to a jam on Sunday, at Oak Glen.  Sounds like fun!

Have a good evening!

Good evening.

I most most of my recipes from Pinterest these days even though I have a gazillion cookbooks.

You have a "super bloom" and we have a super blob of seaweed.

Worked sucked.  I will never understand how PACU and ER both send patients simultaneous to me at shift change.  Not only me but to another nurse, so four new patients at shift change.  How????

Sorry you got dumped on at shift change, Tweety. I had been reading about the seaweed blob.

Hope your trip to Madison is fun and relaxing, Joe!

Stars, I sure wish you could see the counselor before June. You can always vent here, of course, but it's not the same. Sorry that Mr. Stars wants to keep his head in the sand.

J22, Master Gardener! Pretty cool. I have a friend who grew roses until she moved to the desert.

dianah, that recipe sounds interesting. And lentil soup is always good.

Hubs plans to go to the lake tomorrow so -- lucky me -- I get to watch Gma. Twin B is filling in for a co-worker again so working the next 5 nights. Twin A is off tomorrow and will be around but focused on his classwork. I have lots of laundry since I haven't done any since before going to San Antonio.

I got two packages with medications today.  I need to go talk to the Pharmacy, because something is not right.

I received three bottles in one bag, and one in another.  The tracking numbers are correct.  However, in the first bag, there was one bottle of one medication and TWO of another, the same.  They usually only send out one bottle, not duplicates.

So I went online to search it out (and dug the delivery bags out of the recyclables, to compare).  First delivery, with the three bottles, agrees with tracking number.  But they duplicated the one medication.  Second delivery, with the one bottle, agrees with tracking number and what was sent.

Per the website, they also sent me a medication (yes I ordered it) which was noted to have arrived on my doorstep 4/20.  I never received it.

Anyway, as I said, I need to go to the Pharmacy and at least notify them of the duplicate bottle, and of the non-delivery of the other medication (which I do need).

Ew.  Seaweed blob!  Hope it doesn't all land in Florida!
