Hey everyone, I wanted to start this forum so we can share our stats and/or any questions any of us may have. These are my stats so far!
Prerequisite GPA: 4.0
TEAS: 82%

I will be submitting my app soon ? !!
Prereq GPA: 3.76 & TEAS: 88.7
Only thing is I barely have any clinical experience/volunteer hours as COVID cut it short :(.
Does anyone know if they focus more on prereq GPA/TEAS or do they largely consider clinical experience when determining who gets in?
From what I gather their first focus is prerequisite GPA. Your TEAS just needs to be over 75 and they don’t look at clinical. I think on the nursing app it tells us to not even put it in.

Thanks guys.
This makes me feel a bit better :)! I already received a rejection from another school for lack of clinical experience. I wish us nothing but the best and pray we get in.

It looks like my chances for fall is basically contingent on people not wanting to apply and for my 3.41 prerequisites GPA and 84 TEAS score to be enough. Seeing that people got on the alternates list or accepted with a 3.6 in the Spring though, I may have to pay $130 more to apply again in July. I wish they allowed retakes for people like me who took some of their prerequisites like 8 years ago and didn’t know their grades would matter. I got one C and several B’s but by their standards that’s not eligible for their 1 retake policy.
FCC posts lotto results in April, so if I get in there not sure if I will still apply to Fresno State.

So while filling out NursingCas I learned that if you took the same prereq at different colleges, it won’t count as a repeat.
for example, I took human physio at UCLA and got a B+ but decided to take it at LACC and got an A. I was going to say that I did repeat the course but NursingCas says if you took the courses at different institutions it does not count as a repeat. So for prereqs I listed the one I took at LACC.
IDK how you are on budget but maybe you can try taking the prereqs at a CC especially now since classes/labs are online.
I really hope we get in! I’ll be praying for us.
also, do you know if second bachelor applicants can reapply in July?

Fresno State will see it as a repeat based on transcripts. I asked like for example if I took SOC 2 if they would count that instead of my Computer Science they said no, same with Communications or Chemistry. I took most my science prerequisites outside of Chemistry at the city college. They will always take your first non D or F grade from what they told me. I have bad grades on non-science prerequisites like Communications and critical thinking.
And July is current Fresno State students and post baccalaureate students only, so the bar is lower and less people apply

Oh shoot! ? that’s going to significantly lower my prereq GPA bc I got a C in the first chem course I took and B+ in human physio.

mine would drop to 3.36 ?. I will have to give them a call to see if there is someway to update my application as I put the courses with the better grades. I'm just feeling down now because I don't really have a shot.

In order to apply to Fresno State, do we have to apply to the university first and then the BSN program or do we just apply to the BSN program?
Yes. Application to the university closed in November. Once you apply to the university you then apply to the BSN program which is currently open.
