I’m still pending too. I’ve seen a few people in past lotteries whose status didn’t change till right before the lottery, then they were selected. I’m telling myself it’s a good omen.  Trying anything to remain calm!  ?

I am still pending too..

Someone also posted yesterday that they MIGHT not be evaluating everybody, but instead do the lottery with everyone, and then evaluate those who are selected. If someone who is selected is not eligible, they’ll be calling someone else who was unselected and so forth. I guess that’s what they did with the R.T and R. D lotteries this year.
However if that’s the case and they’re planning on doing that, I don’t see why they don’t just pull the lottery sooner and start doing that. But I truly hope they don’t choose to go that route.

I really hope not that just decreases your odds even if you were eligible. That’s so ***.

I know Even if it was technically the same thing I feel like it’s worst being in the lottery with more people.

I test content for the game, if I was making the games I would make a ton more money. To be fair it’s a billion dollar company, and they have a ton of employees and great benefits, if they just paid us more vs giving the CEO of Activision/Blizzard a 200M bonus, people could maybe live. There has been unfair wages strikes for the last couple years.  And definitely do not plan to move back to Irvine when done, I don’t care how much I make if I live in SoCal, houses that are like 400-500k elsewhere are like over 1M there. Truth be told goal is to get out of California, which is one of the reasons I want to do nursing because you can be a nurse anywhere. I cannot work for Blizzard or even really work in the gaming industry anywhere. My family lives in Tennessee and I’m currently staying with them, I really like it out here outside of the weather, issue is the wages are quite low and the Nashville housing market is skyrocketing. Maybe be a travel nurse, not sure, I just know I want to be an OR nurse.

I would love to be a travel nurse! I would def. travel to HI! I have a friend that was just in TN.  She had a blast! she said it's very nice, and lively.   You have to follow the money, that's what's going to keep you going when you can no longer work in your 70's, 80's, and so on. Who knows, I always tell people that "work hard now, get that nursing license now bc you may live to see 100, and without money, your SOL!" who wants to be dependent on the govt for assistance at that age? social security? forget about it! you may get $1200-$1500 per month, but that's nothing because of the cost of living! food is expensive, rent keeps going up, taxes, interest, etc. the government is taking what they can from us! so we all have to be smart with our money, and our earning potential and do what we can to make that money!

My Lottery Status changed from “chose from list” to “Pending” today.

A $70,000 salary when you do the math is $33 an hour so it lines up. $100,000 is $48 or so an hour. Either way no way are you going to make $65 an hour in most places straight out of graduation on Fresno.

I’m not big on money though, I actually hate how much money matters, I just want to make enough to live or buy a house or condo, and currently I do not make that.

During this pandemic they were paying a lot of money because of the needs for nurses, but it's slowing down now. I know right now Kaiser starts at almost $100 an hour for RNs. Prison starts around $60. Community hospital is likely around $35, but if you add the overtime for 12 hours they pretty much average $60 an hour.

I would hate to work 12 hour shifts! I feel like my whole day is just gone to working, and quite frankly, I just want to be with my little girl and travel, so I think working as a travel nurse would be fun, I just don't like the idea of working 12 hour shifts as that would just be awful.  In Fresno, the community hospital pays their RN's $35/hour??? I make that as an LVN! that's awful, and they prob. do a lot of work! that's an insult.

I have 3 kids and I'm so looking forward to working 3 12s and then being off for 3 or 4 days. The regular 5 day work weeks make me feel like all I do is work, and my weekends are a choice of fun/cleaning/relaxing and never fully fulfilling any of those choices. I heard hospitals in the valley pay new grads at $42-$45/hr, which makes sense. Fresno has grown a TON in the last decade. All of the hospitals keep growing, clovis is working on an expansion, and Madera is about to break ground on a new hospital (Madera is growing rapidly!!). Unfortunately this means that I cant afford any of the "good" neighborhoods now, even on 2 paychecks. On the plus side, I get to meet a lot of nurses in the trailer park I live in, some traveling, some just staying until they find a permanent house,  and they always have a lot of good information and fun conversations.

Where do you live that you make $35 as an LVN??

In Fresno. I work for the state corrections.  Also in the bay area I was making $35 an hour as an LVN in  home health.  I think $35 an hour for an RN is an insult to the RN at minimum $50 an hour should be a good amount to earn as an RN. Given the amount of responsibilities and liabilities that an RN has to take on.

I mean RNs in other states make far less, in Tennessee the starting wage is $25.
