Starting a thread for applicants in 2021 year.

From what they told me, they hold a lottery for a tie breaker on points, which ends up being (roughly) the bottom 25% of the highest scoring applicants. I used to live in morro bay and went to school there for 2 semesters until I couldnt afford the area any more. If I could afford it, I would go back in a heartbeat

Yes they do a computer generated tie breaker for people with a tied score but I am not sure that would be considered lottery because no one with a low GPA or TEAS score is going to get in over a top applicant. That's my understanding.

I personally know someone who had a lower GPA and TEAS score than I did and got in last year. Also there was someone on this forum I believe that had something close to a 4.0 that didn’t get in.

I know people that it changed the first week and got accepted and people who’s didn’t change till a few days before the lottery that were also accepted. And mine hasn’t changed yet. The first time I applied it didn’t change till a week before the lottery and the second time it changed in less than 2 weeks after submitting my application.

I applied last year. I have a 4.0 with an 84 on the TEAS and another one of my friends had a 4.0 with a 94 on the TEAS. My friend who had a 4.0 and 80 on the TEAS as well as my cousin who had the minimum GPA and a 63.6 on her TEAS got in. My cousin and friend got pulled and the other friend with a 94 on his TEAS and I did not get pulled for the lottery. Unfortunately I think it’s all random lottery.

Fresno City is all random, that post was referring to San Luis Obispo or something. With those stats all you guys could get into Fresno State though.

They said they feel an obligation as a community college to give a chance to every one which makes sense.
