Starting a thread for applicants in 2021 year.
For those of you who have applied to Fresno State, it looks like the CSU application already had to be put in back at the end of last year in order to apply to the nursing program this month, right?
I wanted to apply but didn’t know about that deadline so I think I missed the boat for this application cycle.

Ya, deadline was November 30th for transfer/first degree students and January 30th for 2nd bachelors. So it’s too late regardless now ?.
The good news is if you’re a 2nd bachelors you get a 2nd chance at Fresno State to apply in July that first degree/transfers don’t!

Fall 2021 is still open if you applied to the college on CSU apply already, you’d definitely get in, Fresno State is a great school. I felt safe there. I did not feel safe at night at all at Fresno City.
My timeline/urgency looked more grim last year but while I was waiting to get in last year my friend said I should apply for the job I currently have and I when I found out I didn’t get into FCC I found out I got this job. So if I don’t get in now I just keep working this job, which if there wasn’t a pandemic I’d have to relocate to Orange County. The pay is high for not having to live in OC and low for OC, so I can save a ton living at home while working at home and not required to relocate. Still my goal is nursing not the gaming industry, but the job is great benefits and people, so I’ll keep going until I get in. I just started last June and have no prior experience and working remote so the job is “uncomfortable”, maybe I’d change my mind about nursing if I got to experience living in OC and working in the office and enjoy it.
Funny you posted this, I just asked a question about the timeline for applications at Fresno State. ?

Thanks for the clarification. I am finishing my BS in Healthcare Management in the next couple months so that would definitely be an option for July.

Lucky for you, as long as a year has not elapsed since you took a class you do not have to reapply to Fresno State as far as I’m aware, they still consider you a student. I graduated 2018 and because of that I had to pay the $75 to reapply to the college in addition to the $55 to apply to the program.
I’d definitely go for July, it’s less competitive! I heard 3.6 was wait list and 3.7 or higher got in. I still have low chance with a 3.41 but with COVID you never know less people could apply.
Currently as financially stable as I’ve ever been in my life, so I just said screw it might as well try both fall and Spring a miracle could happen. I emailed a counselor to see if I have to reapply again on CSU apply if I don’t get selected, that’d make it for me $260 in just application fees for a miracle, oh well.

I've never applied to Fresno state, so I'd have to wait until the fall, but I need a few more transferrable credits to be accepted anyways. I figure if I don't get into the FCC program, I can use Summer and fall semester for my last prerequisites to Fresno state's program.

That is too expensive. I would rather go to SJVC.

I forgot transferable credits were even a thing because I went to Fresno State straight out of high school and they got 131 credits out of me ?.

Tbh both SJVC and National are too expensive for me. I just hate the whole idea of private for profit colleges in general though. My end goal is to be a first assist and I went to SJVC to inquire about their Surgical Tech program, the lack of information given, plus it being $38k for a certification is just disgusting. I felt like I was talking to a sales person and not a school counselor.

I looked at SJVC and Gurnick for a minute, but there's no way I'm paying those prices to not come out with a BSN

Ya that’s when my mom suggested nursing. They are wanting RN’s for scrubbing/first assist nowadays anyhow and are pushing CST-FAs to go back to school for nursing.
