You don't have to go and attend the ceremony, but passing the Boards is no trivial thing. If I were you, I would attend the Oath taking ceremony, this will be the only time when you can be with your fellow nurses and celebrate the milestone of being an RN. Afterwards, it's back to reality of finding that elusive nursing job....
During your registration in the PRC, you sign an Oath Taking Form duly notarized signed and stamped by the PRC, so that is the actual Oath taking... The ceremony is just for show...that is my understanding.
You are right. The oath taking ceremony is just a show, you are just there to stand and clap. No proof that you've attended the ceremony. The registration in PRC is more necessary because it's a requirement in getting and processing your license.
