Summer is here and you have all the free time in the world, right? But, as a Nursing Student, you have forgotten just what that means. Relaxing, getting in 9 holes, lazy afternoons. PANIC! I can't relax!! Do you have the Summer off this year? Are you having a hard time adjusting to "free time"?

Personally I'm enjoying the decreased amount of responsibility. 4 weeks left of freedom.

My program doesn't really break for the summer. We got a week off for the 4th of July, but it was smack dead in the middle of advanced med-surg and we had our midterm the first day back í ½í¸’.
Although it sucks sometimes, I rather just power through; no need to drag it out any longer than it already is. But I definitely wouldn't know what to do with myself once I graduate... Oh that's right, I'll be studying for the NCLEX.

This cartoon was me right after graduation. I didn't know what to do with all my free time! I took a week off before I jumped in to studying for NCLEX. Then after I took NCLEX, I felt like a fish out of water. Nothing more to study for, no assigments due, no papers to write. It felt WEIRD!!!
After having nearly 2 months off before starting my new job, I'm glad I had some time to decompress & relax. It took a while, but I finally was able to relax. 3 years in "nursing school mode" gets to you...LOL

My program let out for summer break June 17th, and we don't start back until September 28th. I know that the next few weeks are going to go by really fast, and it's good self care to take the time for yourself and decompress, but oh how I wish we could just power through. Call me crazy, but I miss school; I miss the routine, I miss the chaos, and I miss my cohort. September 28th can't come soon enough. In the meantime I am going to start brushing up on my Pharm and last 2 quarters of Med Surg so I can stay on top of my game.
