which location?
frankford campus : frankford area (original community hospital. lower ne, inner city issues)
torresdale campus: far northeast (larger, newer campus, almost suburban feel, level 2 trauma center)
bucks county campus: langhorne, bucks county (community hsp in suburbs)
each has their own environment. all are part of jefferson health system. no idea pay rates.

Torresdale had a horrible reputation for having the nastiest nurses in Philadelphia back in the late 90's.
They ran new nurses off every chance they got. They were old timers and very clique-ish and had no room for new blood.
I actually knew an MD that dreaded going there to see patients because the nurses were so mean!
Frankford-Frankford, however, did not have the same rep.
Heard very good things about that place.

I worked at Frankford Torresdale until a few years ago. We did not run new nurses off. We were good nurses. And we were respected by the physicians. The ICU is a great unit - they have a good variety of patients. including :heartbeat surgery.

Sorry Ann, but I've heard the same thing. One nurse told me her locker lock had glue put in it. You have to wonder when you hear stuff like that from more than one source.
