Hello everyone, I was just wondering is foundations of nursing hard? Also if anyone had any good study tips for this class?

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Are you preparing for the class or in the class right now? I found nursing fundamentals to be basic care plus rationale of skills. I personally did not find it difficult.

No, the class itself was not hard. I found that the textbook tended to be very convoluted. I passed Fundamentals without reading the textbook at all.

I am getting ready to start LPN school this week but I did take fundamentals of nursing when I was in RN school. I recorded lectures and took lots of notes. I rarely had to open my textbook at home just from doing the above. Good luck!

Fundamentals (same thing) was very easy for me I rarely had to study

My school had an instructor who wasn't well equipped to teach. She was neither organized, nor consistent, taught out of 4 books and her lecture contradicted the books and the exam answers.

My LVN class was full of people who had worked as CNAs prior and had many people who had completed all the RN prereqs.

I kid you not when I tell you nearly everyone was failing this simple class.

I made complaints (and enemies in the process) and wound up with an A.

I hope your experience is better!!

Sounds like one of my teachers lol. She was never organized or on time and almost the whole class was failing so she gave extra credit. Being a cna/ma and having my prereqs done for a bsn program helped me out a lot.
