Hey all, has anyone been enrolled in or completed a program with the above consulting company. They’re based out of Florida and seems to have the same blended online/ 1 weekend per month model as Med Life institute. I’ve yet to see anything online not reviews or comments. Please share if you’ve heard of them.

Here are the 2017 NCLEX scores for Capscare:

 CAPSCARE ACADEMY FOR HEALTHCARE EDUCATION

53 taking test

19 passed

34 failed test

35.85% of students taking test passed.

So 34 graduated the 'academy' with $30,000 debt and unable to get an RN job.

Just the pic of that strip mall storefront was enough for me!  'Nuff said!

londonflo - I truly  HOPE that any prospective students read your posts and seriously reconsider their application. Unfortunately, I doubt it will happen. Shame that their PARENTS don't read those posts. A jolt of reality shock is what's nec and the parents understand & GET IT!

Sad that students will likely be back here on AN, bemoaning troubled  academic issues, incl FAILED testing, program cost and lack of job opportunities.

TY for your helpful research endeavors. Hope they're heeded!

Bridginghtx: Where did you take NCLEX? I cannot find any test-takers in Florida for 2019, 2020 so far.

The school is a new school and I think there first graduates was just this Spring/Summer if the graduates even took there boards yet.

I would not knock the program until I really looked into it that being said. I went to a program that was in a store front but it was licensed and accredited. The communication with the school was not good but I was able to finish the program. I was in many traditional college programs and was never able to even get in a program. Yes it was a online teach myself program but for me it worked out good. When I was looking into the program that I went to which since closed.I thought to myself this looks and sounds a little crazy but I knew a friend who finished the program that I did and I'm glad I did the program. I took a chance and it worked out. What I'm saying is look into the program just because it is in a store front doesn't mean it is not a legitimate program if it is on the board of nursing means it is approved to take the boards and if it is a new school the board passing rates would not be posted yet as the graduating class would of just finished. It also takes a while if you are a new school to become accredited. All im saying is don't knock it until you check it out 100 percent for yourself. Many of my coworkers have completed programs like these in Florida and they are Rns now. Yes it took some a few tries to pass boards but at the end of the day they are Rns because of programs like these just make sure you do your research before you knock these programs.

I agree 100%. This has been my experience. To potential students:  I would also add that being aware of YOUR career goals, YOUR learning style preference and YOUR educational goals will help tremendously in identifying what program works for you. I’m not online to dispel details pertaining to this program but I am happy to share my successful experience via private message. Good luck to everyone in their nursing education!

There is nothing on the website pertaining to this and my email WAS NOT answered. Do you have a hotline to someone there who can tell me about the curriculum since you work there?

Accreditation requires 'quality in the product'. Teaching your self is not quality.

NCLEX is offered continually and the FBON posts school results on their website -- no mention of 'your' school?

Bridging HTX  works recruiting/persuading students to attend these 'fly by Night' schools. Why can't she state here what you need to know about the program -- Why won't she let you hold her accountable?

Let me get this straight, You paid money to teach yourself and it worked out well?

This is my last question for now. Since you are on AN touting many 'storefront' 'non accredited' programs with horrendous pass rates or none at all,  WHY should we believe you?

I agree with everything posted here.

First of all  LondonFlo I don't work for any schools at all. I am a nurse who successfully completed a program  like this although it was not the same program as the school in question  The school I went to was a online program of which they gave you the materials and it was up to you to study the material in order for you to pass the exams. That being said yes you had to understand the information in order to pass the exams. Like I said yes there are scam programs out here but not all small or storefront programs are scams you must look into each program  but please don't knock programs like this many people have made it though and have become very successful if not for programs like this many of us would not have succeeded to become an RN myself included.

The school I attended was storefront but it was  approved  and accredited  by the Florida board of nursing. The essential  school of nursing has webinars every week to explain there curriculum and enrollment process as I just attended one in order to enroll my daughter in their program. Maybe you need to do some more research on how to enroll with the school and I called and spoke to the owner and got all my questions answered and received a information seesion on a webinar.

You seemed satisfied with this type of learning methodology but I can't help but question where the critical thinking component comes in.

You bring this fact up but many do not come away with a NCLEX pass after spending 10s of thousands on a 'teach yourself' program. Many do not pass NCLEX of the first try, which it is assumed you have an 80% chance of passing? On the second try there is a 40% chance of passing. Happy about these stats Darp?
