I'm thinking of completing my RN-BSN through Fort Hays University. Has anyone out there completed this program? The costs are very reasonable under 5000.00 for the BSN and books around 650.00. The're not NLN accredited, but I don't think they need to be. I am thinking of moving to Michigan in the future and possibly becoming a drug rep. for the money of course. I've been a Correctional Nurse for almost 4 years now and I'm getting tired plus I see new employees coming in and making more money than me and this makes me want to move on to a job that pays more, but I need the BSN to do it.

Check again on their accredidation. THey are the primary BSN school in Western KS. The program is ok. THey have problems with blackboard every once in awhile. THe staff is helpfull. I was enrolled before moving to the east coast. Lots of RN's from Western KS area enrolled.
Thanks. I'm curious did you complete your BSN? If you did where? I'm so skeptical about these online schools.
Ft Hays isn't an online program per say. It is a brick and mortar school in Western KS that has an online componant. It does require some face to face time or at least it did. You can take the pre-reqs anywere. There is some clinical componant.

CCNE accredited. I know this is an old thread but I wanted everyone to know that the BSN from Fort Hays (yes a real State School) is totally virtual if you need it to be. Same course content as the on campus folks, you progress at whatever speed you like. Started last week :) !!!!!!!!!!

I'm seconding dijaqrn's comments.
It is fully accredited (though not NLN, tbut he other accrediting body), you don't ever have to visit campus, and it is the same curriculum as their on-site students. You can go fast through it, or you can take your time. It is extremely reasonably priced. I'm just starting the program; but I researched it pretty well, and the nurses I spoke with who complete it were very happy with it. Some are continuing on through them for their Masters. It uses articulate presenter and Blackboard for lectures.
It has it's ups and downs like any program, and I'm not such a technophile, so that aspect is difficult for me; but overall so far I am very happy here.
Good luck with whatever you decide!
