I have a problem and I hope someone can help
I gave a 1 month notice to my former employer in March. I was asked a few days later I was asked to reconsider and did. My last day would have been in April. In 1st week of May I was approached and told that they were extending my resignation date til May 17th. The same resignation that was no longer on the table. On may 21st I was told my resignation was accepted immediately.
My issue is this. As the DON, I found that my employer was doing something possibly illegal. I went to Executive Director and was accused of a whole host of things. I went to the VP and he suddenly quit. I went to HR and was essentially told not to worry about it. I went to the new VP and was let go 10 days later. I reported them to the state. Stupid me has had some contact with some of my former coworkers. However, I have just gotten word that they are threatening to sue me for a citation they received. On top of this, they have been slandering me. As a nurse, how do I protect myself.

You need to consult with your personal malpractice/liability insurance carrier or an attorney that specializes in employment law. As per the site terms of service members can neither request nor offer legal advice. You can also sit down and write out a timeline of how events transpired (dates, times, people, incidents, reports) in your recollection in preparation for your conversation with your insurance carrier or attorney
