Hopefully this is not the worst mistake a nurse has ever made, but forgot to do a nurse draw on morning labs that were daily for a pt on a lasix drip that I have been caring for a couple days now. I previously drew their blood the previous nights while caring for the same pt. I usually get her nurse draw done by 6am with their meds passed but I was distracted with another patient issue. Ended up remembering and called them back at 9am when I got home to draw the blood.

Nursing is 24 hour care. In the grand scheme of nursing, not significant problem as you remembered and passed info to next shift.

Yes, definitely been there done that. I used to draw starting around 4:00 which usually resulted before I left in the am. Before I left I would scan the labs to look for any criticals (we wouldn't always get calls) and that's when I would notice someone I missed.
You remembered ?and even if you didn't a lot of the times that's the first thing doctors look up even before they round so they'll call upstairs to check or order new ones they want. Don't beat yourself up over this, you're still awesome!

As you've already heard from other people, this is not an emergent issue. Maybe mildly annoying for the next shift maybe, but we all end up with something that fell off the radar for a coworker, it happens. Move on and don't worry about it!
