Foreign Educated nurse wants to transfer RN NY license to CT

So, NY has all my transcripts and stuff. Im endorsing a RN license to Connecticut from New York State Board of Nursing. I studied in a foreign country, so it would be really hard to get a transcript sent to CT. I called the NYSED and they said that in order to request that you need to send a letter in requesting it. I was reading somewhere on Allnurses.com, that NY is not allowed to send your transcript to another state. I have mailed my request for a transcript to be sent to CT BON along with my Verification of License in Another state form by CT. Will NY send my transcripts over to CT? I really need to find out because its going to take at least 3 months to receive it, if I have to get internationally. So again, Will NYSED send my transcripts over to the CT BON?

Thanks!

Did you find out if that is possible? 'Cause I am gonna need to do the same and I can't find any information about it. Thanks.

"An official transcript of nursing education, verifying the award of a degree, diploma or certificate in nursing. Please note that if you completed your education under a last name other than your current last name, please ask your school of nursing to indicate your current last name on the documentation submitted (Foreign-trained applicants need only arrange for verification of certification by the CGFNS International;'

This is what is posted on the Conn Board of Nursing.....you need CGFNS to forward the transcript.

What if your transcripts were evaluated by a different company. Is it still possible to transfer your license to another state, NY for example? Anyone know how that works?

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Even if you used another company NY still requires CVS whether it is a new application or endorsing a license
