For all those waiting on acceptance letters.....

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Let's keep up and tell about our experiences here. I'm waiting for the 14th when AUstin Peay State univ. sends my acceptance letter. I also have a NET test to take on the 28th of Oct. for LPN classes. I have applied to five other schools besides that. They will give decisions in November. I am just having the faith in God that I will get into all of them and that I will have a choice of schools. What's everyone else waiting on? Has anyone already received their letter? :D :lol2:

Can we make this a sticky?

Thanks Peachy720, I hope so!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I made a big deal when I became "an official applicant!" I don't even know how I will react if I get in!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hey guys!!

Hehe, turning my application in this week, and Early Decision notification will be Dec. 15. OMG, don't think I'll have any sleep til then!!

I'm SO nervous you guys. I know it's putting all your eggs in one basket, but I applied to only one school--my dream school. It's 1000 apps for 150 seats, but I never went after my dreams before, and I'm doing it now! :p

Fun2Care and NurseJess, I know you guys are both very bright, and will have NO problem getting in!!!:balloons:

(Sorry, haven't gotten to know anyone else in the thread, but can't wait!)

I agree.

I have befriended my mail carrier....LOL!

I am usually out there by 3 pm sharp on the steps looking forward for the darn letter and still nothing. (((Agony)))

I did the same when I was waiting on my acceptance letter. Actually, one day (turned out to be the day before I got my acceptance letter) I drove to the front of my apartment complex and waited for the mail carrier because he was running late. I felt so silly...like a kid on Christmas. I got the letter the next day, and it was one of the best feelings in the world.

By the way, the secretary of the nursing department at my school hinted around over the phone that I got in, but didn't tell me for sure. I had called to ask if she had received all of my information, and she very excitedly said ...Yes! I got everything I needed from you, and I hope you will get your letter in a couple of days. That made me VERY excited, but I still didn't want to get my hopes up. So when I saw that letter and knew it was for real, I let it all out! Good luck to all of you!

Hi! I am presently studing for the NET test. What info are you using for the reading comprehension section? Heard inferential reading section was un passable.

Acceptance phone calls go out about a week before the letters, so, I'll be hanging out by the phone while you guys are hanging out at the mailbox! Funny thing is my dh is a mailman and works out of the office that our mailman does, so all he has to do is go check our mail before it even gets delivered. If I don't get the phone call, I don't think I'll ever want to check the mail again!! They send denial letters out too. So, I just have to make sure my phone bill is paid! Calls are supposed to happen around Nov. 7thish. Stinks not knowing the actual day. They might not "get to it" and start making phone calls around the 20th. Good luck to all!

Same here Peachy. I applied to only one school. Everything else has a massive waiting list along with a lottery system.

I want to congratulate you for going for it and following your dream. I am sure you are an excellent candidate and you will get in. You let us know the results when you get them ok.

Good luck! :balloons:

Hahaha, I thought I was the only one! I definitely feel as you did like a child waiting for Christmas.

The secretary at our school won't know anything. The only people that know are the advisors (which are also the clinical instructors) and the Nursing director.

I think I will eventually tire from waiting for the letter and bam! there it will be. I can just imagine me trying to open the envelop while my heart is stopped looking for the word accepted rather than rejected.

I have until Th of Nov. to find out. Too long! I wish I would find out this week....LOL

Lucky you! We get the call after the letter (weird).

My school has never taken so long or been so dramatic about it before, but last semester they really blew it when they informed the students whether they got in or not the day of registration. Well it turned out that as their numbers were called the advisor would look for their name on the "special list" and if it wasn't they were told they did not get in.

It was such an emotional scene and they felt terrible. They swore to never do this again and rather send out letters and a courtesy call afterwards.

I rather find out in the privacy of my own home because the Lord only knows how many tears I will shed if I don't get in. Then, I should compose and accept things but still ya know.

I am also waiting for October 15th to get my letter. Can't believe it is almost here!!

I think the reason behind the phone call before the letters are sent, is because they ask you if you are going to take the seat. If you have changed your mind and tell them its ok, they can then add someone else that is waiting. Good idea if you ask me. It keeps some from getting a denial letter right off the bat. I'm sure it cuts down on their paperwork as well.

Our acceptance letters require us to return a confirmation with in a certain period of time. It seems that having a denied seat in writing is better, IMO....less hiccups down the road.

I'd love to get a call today, but I can see my school's reasoning why everything is written and delivered via snail mail.

We also have to accept in writting in 10 days from receiving the letter. I'm not sure what they do when the person being called denies the spot. I won't find out either!!!!!! That is...if they ring my bell!
