I'm waiting to hear from Columbia's ETP program. It's been 2 years in the making to get to this point and next Friday they mail out their decisions. I'm kinda losing my mind. Still trying to keep my mantra as, it's ok if you don't get in. Applying to 2 other programs but they don't start 'till september and I'm ready allready. All i wanna do is get started now. I suppose i shouldn't complain. The programs i'm applying to don't do this wait listing thing I keep hearing about. I think it would be much worse to get an acceptance and then be told, ok, now it will be 2 or 3 years before you can start. oh my oh me. i am REALLY wanting this next week to fly.
I should get my acceptance letter sometime in feb. Then I would start in the summer I am so nervous!!! But I can't wait eitherGood kuck to all who are waiting
I know the feeling....the BSN program i am applying to starts in the summer as well...i wan't be getting a letter until feb or march!!! what school are you applying to?
Well.....they sent out letters last wednesday and i still havent received anything. They are supposed to send you a letter whether you got in or not. I called the nursing office this morning and told them that i hadnt gotten anything. She told me that she didnt know what to tell me b/c they were mailed out. So i asked if she could tell me over the phone...and she said "no im not authorized to do that"...then she said let me see what i can do...and HUNG UP!!!! She didnt say she would call me back...she didnt even ask what # she needed to call me back at...NOTHING! So now im just sitting here about to explode not knowing if or when she will call back or what i need to do.

Last year I had the same thing happen. I never got a letter regarding the Fall program even though they had been sent out. What you need to do is either A) have them send out another one or B) go there and pick up the letter. The reason I say this is because at our school, and I would imagine most schools are the same, there is a timeframe you have to accept your seat if you are accepted to the program. If you don't mail in or turn in your acceptance letter by then, you lose your spot. Call them back. Don't feel like you are bothering them - it's their job! Tell them your willing to come and pick up the letter if need be.
Good luck and I hope you get in!!!! :w00t:

Question!!
Hi I was just wondering what you thought about clinical experience for ABSN programs. I have a GPA of first degree of 3.04(I know...I had a very rough time...had to work), but I pulled it together towards the end. I worked for five years in a clinical setting. As a CNA in low income clinic, lab assistant, surgical assistant/medical assistant, and endoscopy critical care technician. TONS OF PATIENT CARE! Do you think that will help me in my application? I got into an ADN program, but rejected from another, and still waiting on the ASBN program. My hopes are low on it...but I am praying for a miracle!
What do you think about the clinical experience? Will it boost me in?
The cut off for my ASBN applied program is 2.75...
And I had tons of rec letters and volunteer stuff...
OK so i spoke to my nursing advisor and I'm IN !!!!! I start in march!!
CONGRATULATIONS BECCA!!!! I'm so glad they were able to tell you...my school did the same thing, refused to tell me on the phone, so I went in and picked up another copy of my letter...didn't want to take a chance with the mail again!
I'm glad to hear you got good news!!! :w00t:
Is there anyone out there that has applied to nursing schools in Houston for Fall 2008?
I just got letter from HBU telling me GPA wasn't high enough. I'm still waiting to here from TWU and UT. I am retaking two classes to boost my GPA up. Presently I have 3.475 but I'm afraid that might not be high enough. Hopefully after this semester it will be around 3.7 so I have a better chance of getting in.
Talk about sweating bullets......:icon_roll
