I just turned in three of my four applications :uhoh3:, and I'm already sweating bullets! Just thought I would start a support thread for those of us impatiently awaiting results for the Spring of 2008.

Good luck to everyone!!!!

I brokedown and called the school today to see if they could estimate when they would be going out, and all they could say was..at the end of this mont!! ERr!! Good luck to everyone!

just keep busy and the time will fly by. that's what i'm doing. i made it a purpose not to think about it anymore and not get the mail as soon as i get home. we will all be in a program soon...

:biggringiConrats to all those who received acceptance letters. :biggringi

I received my second letter today. Another denial. I am starting to get a bit nervous.

Saying a HUGE prayer that your next letter is your acceptance letter!!!!! :w00t:

hey - i posted this on another thread but i thought i would update here. i received my acceptance letter from santa monica city college about a week ago. woo hoo. still waiting to hear from pasadena city college which is my first choice since it's closer.

:lol2:

Can I just tell you that now that it's closer to the END of October, I DO check the mail as soon as I get home and now I'm starting to get upset when there is nothing in there (even though they said late October/Early November). I have been keeping busy as well, but I think the closer I get to it, even keeping busy isn't helping anymore!!! But we're almost there!!!

We are moving in a couple of weeks, so a lot of my time will be spent packing, so I think I'll make it.

Hi successful NLN takers!

I know this is not the thread for NLN questions but I've been reading your post and you seem to know a lot about it. I would appreciate if you can answer a question for me. I took the NLN this past Aug but scored to low (66%), I am studiyng again to take it in Dec. If I score good would I be able to use this score for the Jan 08 screening deadline? Since it would be the 2nd test within that test period CLC gives you - I hope you know what I mean and are able to help me answer my question.

Thank you and good luck to all!

Hi there!!! I am a fellow CLC student as well!!!

I can answer this question for you with no doubt. You should NOT waste your money taking it again in December. Here is how CLC does it:

Basically you can only take the test twice a year, but you can only take it once within each window. The windows every year are January - June and July - December. So, because you already took it in August, that was your one time for this window. If you take it again in December, they won't even look at that score. It won't count at all...they will only take your first score because that was the first test you took for that window.

Also, the cutoff for Spring was September 2005. You had to take the test prior to that.

I believe cutoff for Fall '08 is the first Wednesday in January, so if they happen to offer one last test, that would be the one to take to try for Fall '08, but if they don't, then you'll have to try to shoot for Spring '09.

If you need further clarification on this, let me know. I know it can be confusing...I'll try to break it down a little more.

Test Window 1: January - June

Test Window 2: July - December

Cutoff for applying for Spring semesters: 1st Wednesday in September

Cutoff for applying for Fall semesters: 1st Wednesday in January

Again, if you need anything else, let me know, but I wouldn't waste your money taking it in December - you should wait until the Spring to do it again in that window.

Thank you Lori for all the wonderful information and explanations you have provided me with. I have just sent you a PM.

Looks like I will have to wait to retake my NLN until the beginning of next year. I will just keep studying and preparing for this test. I really, really want to be a nurse, I hope I am meant for this and the Lord provides me with all I need...and hope is in His will too!

Here is another thing that helped me this year too.

I originally took the last test that they offered in June (right before the first window cutoff). I got an 85% and while that was ok, it was right on the border of getting in/not getting in.

BUT, the cutoff for applications was not until September 5 of this year, so that allowed me to take it AGAIN in the second window. And no matter what, they will take your highest score (so if your first score was higher, that is the one they will keep). So, technically, you have two tries (if you need them) for the Spring '09 semester.

Like I said, I took one in June and then I took the last one they offered in August which was the last one before the cutoff.

Good luck!

I just found out I got in!!!! I applied to 3 local community college programs and I got in on my first try to Saddleback College! Woohoo! I was hootin' and hollerin' outside when I open my letter - I just can't believe it! Go class of 2009!
