When I was in A&P, my instructor, the dept chair said over and over:
EAT BETTER
LOSE WEIGHT
EXERCISE MORE
STOP SMOKING
and that doing these things would improve your health, and reduce symptoms of acute/chronic conditions.
At first we thought she was kidding, but she has the right idea.
Do small steps:
Eat more fruits/vegetables. Will help boost your immune system, fill you up, and help you to eat less, so you can
Lose weight, one I struggle with....
and exercise more, also boosts your immune system.
I've started to exercise, and I feel less hungry, am eating less, have more energy, and am sleeping less (as in being so tired I need a nap...)
If you smoke, my heart goes out to you. I'm an ex smoker, and this is one tough habit to break...
If these dont fit into your lifestyle, think of some that do, they dont have to be big huge changes, just little ones to help boost your body's reserves.
Hope this helps!!

i recommend plenty of yogart to rebuild your natural immunity. it is common to become sick early on in one's career. your body is adjusting to working in a pardon the expression "garbage dump" of microbrial refuse. your immunity will become probably more resilient to these illnesses as time progresses. when i started working in the hospital setting i became sick quite often, but as time has shown my immunity has kicked in and i am infrequently ill. watch your diet, get rest, take supplements, wash your hands (i know, stupid me!) and watch who you kiss.
ps. as above, catlover recommends, exercise regularly, as in walking or running....definitely helps to boost the immune system.
also i discourage as my practice to take antibiotics hastily, ginger and garlic are known antibiotics in their own raw state, not cooked. i know this sounds crazy, but let your natural immunity kick in and don't nuke the system is my logic.
In the chinese culture, they always say :
eat more vegetable ...less meat
drink more water........less ethol
do more exercise........less sitting
do more laughting.......less crying
do more giving..........less taking ..........and the list goes on and on.
I remember when i was in school and studying, cold sores kept poping out of no where and nothing help, until i got a root canal for an infected tooth that has been infected for two years...i think not sure. Now,...no more cold sore..Good luck and try to get some sun every 1 and a haf week...it helps more than you know.

I literally have been sick since Dec. I'll get well and then a few days later it's on again. It's all viral I'm assuming as I'm passing on the "gift" to everyone in my house. I started clinicals this semester along with didactic so I'm sure stress is what's killing my immune system. Any tips you can give me on homeopathic boosters for my I.S.? TIA!
