For those who live in Miami

Published

HI! I'm starting college next semester at MDC. I still need to take the pre-requisistes... I'm going for the ADN. I know it might be a little soon to worrie about this, but I've heard that Miami Dade College has a waiting list, so my question is what other nursing schools can I apply for? Thanks for your answers. ;)

No problem! I think after 15 posts ya puedes mandar mensajes. Good luck! :)

MDC does not have a waiting list. I've been hearing this forever. I don't know who started that stupid rumor lol but it is not true at all. To get into the rn program at MDC you need 30 credits. ENC1101, MAC1105, MCB2010, BSC2085(and the lab), BSC2086(and the lab), CHM1033(and the lab), PHI1206, SPC1017, and DEP2000. :)

Yeah, I'm not sure either. When I said that the "wait" was longer, I wasn't referring to a waiting list. For me, I was not accepted to Miami Dade when I applied the one time. In fact, I know several people who got denied multiple times, and I didn't want to get stuck in that rut.

And at the time, I heard it would have been easier for me to get into Broward. Not so much that their program itself was easier (most of my original class has already fallen off track...about 9 left out of 58), but they have the program at all three of their campuses. So I was told that allows them to accept more people at one time. Whether this information is true or not, I have no idea. But like I said, it's nice to know your options. If one door gets shut, another one always opens up! ;)

I know..U didn't say anything about the waiting list...It was me...lol..I've been hearing that since last year. That's why I mentioned it before....actually is a relieve to know there is none....anyway.. I see that MDC has a very selective admission process...so just in case I will be looking for some other schools...BCC sound good to me too. ;)

Yea exactly, I don't know why people say that about waiting lists. I heard that more than a year ago when my best friend applied. Thank Goodness for curiousity and I went myself to the campus and talked to different advisers and cleared it out. I would never apply if there was a waiting list, ughhhh. :/
