Well....found out yesterday that for the first time in over five years they have too many applicants for spots in our program so it will be competitive. They have over 70 people that are planning on applying so far for 45 spots. Anyway that is the news on this end right now......I am still waiting to see what my score was on that NLN preadmission test to see if I can apply or not. I am a bit stressed about it, but I am trying to keep my thoughts positive!

The nursing school here has 6 applicants for every spot this year. I am glad I went into nursing when I did!

Me too ! :)

I'm glad I went into Nursing when I did. Originally, I had a slot in the Fall 2003 term. But, was bumped up to Spring 2003 because of so many drop outs. Now, I hear that they are full until Spring 2005. I remember the last time this happened. I couldn't get in the program for a while. I got discouraged and didn't persue it. That discussion kept me from fulfilling my dream....

I sure hope everyone hangs in there no matter how long it takes. Don't do like I did...

How refreshing to hear....

This year there we're 125 seats available in my program and i think they said something like 200 applicants. Im not sure how they accept students, it think its based on the entrance exam, or your GPA, i know you have to have a mim. of a 2.50 to get in. i didnt even know how competative my program was untill i talked to some other students. I applied right from high school, like SEPTEMBER of my senior year...maybe they saw how anxious i was!...Good Luck ;)

We have had a competitive system since 1995. Currently, there are 300 qualified students vying for 40 spots. They are starting a mid-semester class that will take Nutrition, Pharm, Intro to Nursing, Skills II, and Assessment IN 8 WEEKS!!! They will also have 8 weeks of 8 hour clinicals running concurrently. The higher ups that don't give a darn about success are setting these people up for failure. Could you imagine??????
