Question about the MAT exam????

Just wondering how your practice exam scores compared to your actually exam score? I take the exam in a few days and I consistently get 50-60 raw score on the practice exams I have taken, wondering if that's a good predictor of what I may end up scoring on the real exam.

Also what study material did you use? I'm using a MAT book by ARCO. There are lots of practice questions and tests included with detailed explanations of the correct answers/rationale.

Hoping I score high enough on this exam or else I'll be forced to take the GRE (I've tired to find every way around taking it, lol!)

Any suggestions for this exam would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks. I tried google but I seriously can't find a lot of helpful info on personal experiences with taking the MAT.

The MAT is not difficult. I took it in 2005 and did really well on it. I took no prep course, and I didn't study anything. I actually arrived to take the test and someone was conducting a study that required me taking the test twice and in doing so I wouldn't have to pay anything. I did this and got my scores, and it seems like I got some sort of commendation letter from someone later in regards to the score. I actually will have to take it again for a master's in nursing, but I'm not concerned about it.

Wow, I've never heard of anything like that happening...but at least you tested for free :D. I've heard of ppl who didn't study and did well. I'm a little concerned that won't work for me due to my lack of general knowledge on some of the subjects they test on and bc of the crazy vocab included. Anyway, I'm brushing up on my weak subjects.
