For All Nursing Instructors

I don't care if you have been a Nurse before the earth was created. If you have a history of students not liking you, because your rude, its you. If your students are afraid to approach you, because you tend to humiliate them, its you. If you cannot keep certain things private about students, who have given you personal information. you have a serious problem. If you like egging on students, to confront other students about something they told you in private, you have a problem. If you find joy humilitating students in front of others, you need to see a pychiatrist for observation. TO ALL NURSING INSTRUCTORS IF THIS IS YOU. HERE IS A PRESCRIPTION YOU NEED TO FILL (STAT) You need to write a letter of resignation quickly, have it legally notorized. Run dont walk, to administration hand it in. Then take your old yellowing RN license with any bootleg teaching creditionals, and burn them. Then check yourself into a nursing home. Hopefully one that has a shortage of CNAs. On the other hand if you are kind, approachable, helpful. If you treat your students with dignity and respect, your badly needed. There are times to be srtict and firm that is understood and respected. Students want to learn in a positive upbuilding enviroment. Two thumbs up for good level headed instructors.

I hope that at some point some instructors will realize that it isn't intimidation that motivates their students. What students really need is a role model to aspire to, not one to fear... My best learning has always been inspired by respect for my instructor and wanting to emulate his/her best mannerisms, attitude and knowledge.

Thanks for telling it like it is Shalamar:up:
