For the accepted students!

I got accepted to 2 hospital programs and Community College of Phila. I have a 3.5 GPA. Chynado1 what school did you apply to?

I actual was attending CCP, and have applied there but did not get accepted because I scored low on the AHT. I also applied to Lasalle, Holy family and Harcum college. I could have started the program for lasalle in sept 06, but I needed to finish up 4 classes b4 I could start and had I would of known that I would not have taken this semester off. I got accepted to holy family, but as a matriculating student and that will be another three years or so b4 i'm finish. I am waiting to hear from harcum because this program starts the end of May until Dec 07', and I really want to get into Harcum. I will know something by next week.

So enough of me, CONGRATULATIONS:balloons: AND GOOD LUCK:biggringi ! what two hospital programs did you get accepted to and have you decided on where you wanted to go.

I was accepted to Roxborough hospital school of nursing and Frankford. I am almost finished my prereqs, I am taking Micro now. I think I am going to Roxborough, I heard they had a good program. I took the AHT last fall and just passed. Please do not give up now you have come too far to let go now.

Thank you for your words of encouragement and you best to believe I have gone to far to give up. I have 50 credits, all pre-reqs done for an ASN, and 4 more classes to go towards my BSN. If I do not get into Harcum, I have a spot in Lasalle, but for 07' and god knows, as hard as it is to get into a program I will go for that or Holy Family.

My school is Langston University in Oklahoma. Basically the requirements are 2.5 GPA, minimum of C in all prereq's, application, and transcript. I dunno how I got in since the compeitition is SO high, but thank the lord for grace. So really just depends on the school.

Do not allow yourself to get discouraged!! Not all of us were honor roll students!! Though my language arts and english grades were always very high, I did just enough in the other classes to get by. Just enough to pass. I took one semester in a community college ( I did well, but I was only taking two classes, English Comp 1 and Computers 101). I knew I had to take the NET test so I went to Amazon.com and bought a book to help me study. I am HORRIBLE in math (and probably always will be). I waited almost 1 year to finally schedule the test b/c of my math skills. However, once I bought the book and there are wonderful websites such as math.com I did well on the NET. There are many resources out there at your disposal. And always remember there is NOTHING worth having that isn't worth working for! This isnt' going to be easy for me. I'm a mother of 4 children ages 2-11 and I work full time. I don't have any options with my work schedule, but I know I need to do this. If you want it bad enough, you can do it!

Don't let yourself get discouraged. I've spent countless hours on here looking for that magical answer. It doesn't exist. All's we can do is our own best. Study hard and keep trying! It will pay off.

I had a 3.0 GPA from my first degree in 2000. Returned to school in 2006 and earned a 4.0 GPA in pre-req's.

I took the TEAS and scored a 92.4%, 99th percentile in all categories.

However, there are several students in my NS who have B's and even C's in some of the pre-req's.

I got into Century College in MN with a 3.19 GPA. There were over 500 applicants for 110 seats. There were no tests and acceptance was based on a "priority points" system that I don't know the details of. They take into consideration GPA (general, science, and nursing pre-reqs), patient care experience, general preparedness to enter RN program (CNA, Medical terminology, previous college degrees).

When I got my BA (10 years ago), it was 2.7

In CC for my pre-reqs, it's a 4.0

No test was needed. Admission was based on GPA and points given based on grades in certain classes (A&P, Micro, English Comp, etc.). The higher your total points, the more it helped you.
