Food donations

How are food donations being handled at your hospital due to the pandemic? I know some places are setting up gofundmes. I ask this because the other day I had a coworker call a place and ask if we can have food delivered to us for free at the big hospital in town. I actually found it rude to ask for that and figured if they donated, the restaurants do it at their discretion. Thoughts?

Where I live many restaurants are doing this without being asked, in addition to providing for their laid off employees and their families. I don't think this is unique to my city.

WOW!, that took guts to call and ask that. We are having food donated constantly. Many people are wanting to help but don’t know how.

Several high profile people in my area have donated and we set up a meal train for people to donate to. I would never ask a restaurant as they are struggling right now as well. But people stepping up and donating helps in two ways. Us and the restaurants.
