Hi! I'm wondering if anyone could direct me to where I could find some information about foley catheters in use as a gastrostomy tube. I can find plenty of resources for the catheter itself, but not as a gastro tube..... Any help appreciated. Thanks!:typing

Copy and paste this into Google. I got a bunch of hits.
foley catheter PEG tube replacement
Wow, this is interesting. One of my patients in one of my clinical rotations had a long-term PEG (several strokes and subdural hematomas of the frontal region... she also had a trach) which was simply a standard foley cath replaced q month. I actually changed it myself one day. Apparently they don't stock the proper tubes and use regular foleys on everyone after the initially placed tube was due to be replaced. I was surprised, but didn't notice any problems with them per se.... although another patient did have some regular leakage from the site.

Placing a "real" g-tube generally requires sedation and endoscopy.
