Hello. I will be starting the FNP program at Walden University in August 2015 and would like to interact and correspond with past and present students. If anyone has any advise or questions please feel free to post here.

I am a little worried about my financial aid. My adviser said I won't be able to find out how much I qualify for until June 2015. Not knowing what my out of pocket expenses will be makes it difficult to plan. Thanks!

Networking definitely helps but check and see if your state has an advanced practice organization. Things like that usually have preceptors on the site. Also go to different clinicsand just talk to them. But for application all I did was pick 3 clinics and write them down. Literally just googled clinics with nps and wrote them down. So far the program has been pretty straight forward. Nothing to extensive. Essays and discussion posts.

I started my program August 30, 15...just finish the 1st quarter. The next quarter doesn't start until 2 weeks, a break for once lol!

yes I had to write one too and I got accepted. However you are on probation during the first quarter or semester...you have to maintain a B or better then you are off.

Hi sxyresa! I started in June of this year and am in the AGNP program. So far I have only had 1 week in between quarters. You are lucky to have gotten 2 weeks! My classes all have been 6 weeks so far but next yr some will be 11 weeks. I am in the -rn- msn path. Which program are u in?

Hello,

I am in the BSN -MSN pathway in FNP. Yes, my classes are 11 weeks long. Next class starts 11/30 to 2/14. I am taking nursing research and nursing technology (informatics). However, I haven't decide to take both of them...I have been thinking about the difficulty of taking both, that's 10 credits. Have anyone heard anything about those 2 as class? Should I only take 1?

If you have great time management skills you will be fine. I have taken 2 classes starting patho and Pham next
