I had an MSN in Ed, MHA and MBA but still had to finish the three holy pre reqs for the certification. All in all I believe it shaved off about 9 months from the program and I was not required to do the graduation thesis/capstone. It is a grind and there is just no avoiding it.
Jelly, I'd like to have a conversation and pick your brain aout your many degrees. I'd love to PM and ask questions.
If you are looking for online programs, I believe that there are currently seven that have UNC Board of Governor Approval.
At least four schools associated with the UNC System still offer the FNP with the MSN option: UNC Charlotte, Winston Salem State University, UNC Chapel Hill, and UNC Wilmington. ECU has converted their FNP to DNP option only. I am unsure which, if any, of these programs are offered online.
As far as private schools, I know that Duke offers the FNP with MSN option.

I recently completed my MSN Education. I am interested in getting my FNP and don't want to start over from the BSN point. Has anyone completed a certificate program to obtain their FNP post masters? Some of the programs seem to accept the MSN Ed and some seem to want you to have an MSN with some sort of NP specialty already. Also, I live in NC, which seems to exclude some options. Any input on experiences with this would be helpful!
