Florida RN license by endorsement

U.S.A. Florida

Hello all,

where do I need to go to apply for a Florida RN license by endorsement?

How much money are we talking about in fees?

Thanks for your responses,

Peluchina.

Hi

I am in the process of endorsing my DC license in the State of Florida. Can anyone tell me about the CE two hour course on medication error? Do we need to take it? I have been trying to go on to cebroker.com and the website has been down for two days. Also is it worthwhile to pay the $125 to have one of these companies expedite the process (they claim they take care of everything for you and you get your endorsement in 3 weeks).

Thanks!

Far more important than having experience is the ability to be flexible and adapt to the Florida way of doing things. We have a lot of tourists, a very multicultural society here, and we're used to new people. So the burden of change will most likely be on you.

Remember, nursing is a lot like doing dishes -- there are lots of correct ways to get those pots washed. ;)

Hello guys,

my name is Fabio and i'm an Italian nurse. 4 years ago i got my degree and I started working in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit... last month i visited Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida and i found it so exciting... I would have a working experience in Florida, but I don't know what to do and what to have (i mean requirements, addictional exams, fees to pay, ecc...). Is there someone who could help me?!?! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS....

I just applied for my Endorsement into FL & I've been an NICU nurse for 3 1/2yrs. I honestly hope the process won't take very long. I found an old page (2004) where some people were saying it was taking them 6 MONTHS to get their license. UGH! I also applied for a job, so praying I hear something soon. Please tell me that I'm not going to have to wait 6months & that my experience will work to my advantage?!

Hello,

I am an RN in Boston, MA. I just sent my ppwk down with the application filled out to the letter, a copy of the Nursys verification, copy of the medication error CEU and 2 copies of the fingerprints along with the $223 fee, sent is certified. It was received on Dec 7th and on Dec 17th the board had my license number posted. I still don't have anything by mail but that seemed pretty quick.

There is also an option to fill out the application online pay online and mail in the fingerprints.

:yeah:My FL license was posted 10 days after my original state MI - not on nursys - sent a letter to FL. Pretty good turn around time in my opinion. Looking to get a travel contract in South FL. I am an experienced OR and travel nurse. I guess it will be a slow week for hiring and contracts, etc.

Thanks for sharing this information! I'm a new grad from Maine, and plan to get my license by endorsement. Other posters' where wondering if you had to get a job first before license, etc. I hope to start working first; as a new grad in FL while I wait for my license to go through. At least I can hope that it is as quick as ten days! Thanks again !

Licensing is not dependant on work experience, just education and testing. Some states have particular CEU's that are required ie. FL's specific course is medication error prevention.

So you won't be working in Maine as a new grad?

Hello, I am looking to transfer my current Iowa lisence to Florida. I looked on the Florida BON website and it looks like it says that I need to have 2-3 yrs of clinical experience to endorse my lisence. I have been an LPN for a 1 1/2 and just got my RN lisence. Does anyone know if I have to have experience in Iowa to transfer to Florida??

Just re-read that document. Seems you do need to have practiced nursing for 2 out of the last 3 years in order to be endorsed by Florida.
