Usf summer 2016

U.S.A. Florida

I havent seen a thread started yet for University of South Florida's summer '16 entry to the program and I thought I would start one, since the application deadline is only about 2 months away. I'm really nervous about getting in especially since they just replaced the essay with an interview. I'm looking forward to talking to other applicants while these next 2.5 months drag by.

I am praying I get in also!!!! My GPA is decent. I revised my essay over and over. I even went to the writing center. Not much I can do with my resume though. I applied to HCC just incase but I really hope to get into USF. Have you applied anywhere else?

I need to work on my application. I am going to see if I can get help with that next week. I am still waiting for my application to go through. It is taking forever!!! I thought about applying to HCC but if I can't get in I am also looking at FIU. They have the same program for veterans.

Do you currently go to USF? A few schools here in Florida have the same program its just they all require different prereqs. I really don't want to move again though.

No I don't. I recently graduated from HCC with my AA. What other schools here in Florida have the same program? I am not from this area so although I don't want to move I would consider it. The sooner I finish school the better. Did you attend the web-seminar today? I think I saw your name on there.

Yea I seen your name too! I was like I wonder if that's the same Monica. Florida State University and Jacksonville University both offer the same program. We just missed the deadline for Florida State though! It was literally yesterday.

:) Yup that was me! I looked into Jacksonville but I think their program is different. I didn't know Florida State had one too bummer!! Well hopefully we can get into USF.

Hey guys! I'm current student at USF applying to the nursing program for summer 2016 and i'm super nervous and i hope i get selected to get an interview!!! My friend who is also a pre nursing student told me that her mentor who works in the college of nursing said that they are going to choose the top 140 highest gpa's for interviews.... so if that is true i hope we all get picked lol... my current gpa is a 3.77 so i hope that's high enough to be in the top 140!

If they interview the top 140- how many roughly are admitted?

From reading previous boards seems like half of the 140 or so. I'm going to ask at the meeting next week to get a sure answer.

I went to a information session in 2015 before they changed it to an interview and I thought she said that they got about 500 applications for second degree and that only about 30 got in- so my question is are they interviewing 140 for 30 spots over three day?!?!?!?!? I hope to attend the webinar again next week and see if I can get any clarification. If anyone else does please share :)

Did any of you guys go to the stampede into bull nursing meeting today?

No I wanted to but I had to get my son from daycare by 6 and I wouldn't have made it in time. Although next week is when they are going over the interview process with the nursing faculty. The email the CON sent said there will be a workshop next week pertaining to the interview process and questions to expect and how to prepare for it.
