SPC nursing 2015

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone!

This is my first official post, but I've been creeping around for quite some time now, ha! I just applied to SPC's nursing program for Spring of 2015. I still have to take micro, but I figured I'd apply anyway. Has anyone recently been accepted prior to taking micro? Also what was the average GPA for last semester applicants?

Well its all over but the crying now! Now we sit and wait 6 weeks.. I wonder if they notify us any EARLIER than Nov 1st.. PS: Glad to see someone else survived Menards class!! I actually LOVED him.. I thought he was a funny old man! hahaha! How does everyones GPA look? Im sitting at a 3.86 with all pre-reqs done and Pinellas resident.. So, I'm hopeful! Glad we have a way to bounce stuff off one another.. Good luck to us all!!

No I'm not a Baycare employee. I was hoping the same thing! I'm hoping that if they are taking outside applications that my resume stands out because of previous medical background in massage therapy. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, I'm hoping that as well, since I'm a CNA and I was hired by Baycare before but couldn't work due to medical limitations at the time. Sorry if it sounds like I'm trying to one up you it's just what I think about. Did you fax over or attach any recommendations to your application?

You should have no problems getting in from what I've read. But it will be nice to get that confirmation.

No it didn't sound like that at all. We are all proud of our accomplishments :)

No I did not send any recommendations, just my stamped checklist. Keep me posted if you get a call for an interview. I know they said it would be about a month before they started seeing applicants which sucks, but hopefully worth the wait.

Good luck to everyone. I had several friends get in for fall without micro but they had 4.0 gpa. I didn't make it without it and I had a 3.89. Now with micro done with an A I expect to get in for Spring. Good luck to all. Notices went out two days before so maybe Oct 28 - 29 if we are lucky.

So is anyone else nervously checking their email? Just in case they have a question - lol! 17 more days!! I just double checked - last semester I got the notice a day early - so maybe the 31st. I went ahead and got my tdap booster, flu shot and physical. I had my doc give me orders for the blood titers for hep B, chicken pox and MMR since I don't have shot records. Waiting until the 1st to do the blood work. Looking into CPR for health professionals - don't want to have to do it all at the last minute and during holidays. I sure hope I get in :)

Hi! I actually just checked my email today for the same reasons! Lol. My insurance company does NOT cover vaccinations for adults! Crazy, I know! Where are you getting your boosters/titers done? I am looking for the cheapest route, since I will be paying out of pocket ..

I'm doing through quest but I think health dept does cheap or maybe free

I have been checking everyday too! The notice will come via student e-mail? I have been checking that and regular mail religiously lol.

Any news yet guys?

Nothing yet. I am guessing Friday - with a small chance of it being Thursday. I have checked every week day for past week. I will post as soon as I hear. :) good luck to all - I've been researching cpr for healthcare professionals too so I can get that done pretty quickly. Don't want to do during holidays.

That's what I was thinking too. This 3 month waiting period has been killing me lol. Let us know if you find a good place to do the CPR cert. I have been looking but most of the ones I've found are either in Tampa or Sarasota.
