Florida NCLEX Application Requirement for Foreign Graduates

Published

Hi allnurses,

I'm new to this thread but I'm hoping that I would get answers to my questions. I am an RN in the Philippines, a US Citizen, out of practice for more than 10 years. I am considering taking the Florida NCLEX. I have taken the IELTS in 2007. Wondering if that is still valid? I know that I need to get my credentials evaluated by an accepted agency, I'm thinking CGFNS. I'm a resident of Oregon but considering taking the Florida NCLEX.

My question is, based on the short information I have provided, will I be able to get accepted to sit for the NCLEX? Maybe I won't get a yes or no answer to this, but any ideas and experiences would be greatly appreciated as well as a yes or no answer.

Thank you very much!

The BON may require you to show some work experience in view of you qualifying several years ago. If English exam required has to be current and usually only within a couple of years

If you're planning to work in Oregon there is a practice requirement: 960 hours in the past 5 years. Not having worked for 10 years could pose a problem in Oregon. If you're planning to work in Florida then you'd have to check their requirements, or maybe someone on this forum can tell you.
