florida hospital or orlando health for new grad pay

U.S.A. Florida

I am trying to compare the two hospitals Florida hospital and Orlando health. I know the starting salary at Orlando health is $22.50/hr for BSN and $21.30/hr for associates, the nurse patient ratio is 1 to 5, and night differential is $8.75 and weekends $3.20. Has anyone got accepted in the new grad program at Florida hospital if so can you share the location and floor starting pay for new grads, shift differential? What it is like working at Florida hospital? For example, the work environment and support from staff members along with how long the training is based upon the unit or floor you work on. Thanks.

I mean I signed a contract and I didn't think was that big of a deal its basically job security and even if u hate the floor u are hired for as long as u stay within the florida hospital system u are ok and trust me the fl hosp system had something for every one... As of pay u must negotiate ur wage! Hope this helps!

Hello All,

I am a nursing student and I graduate this May, I am planning to move to Orlando, hopefully by July, of this year. The sooner I move would depend on how quick I get a job. How is it as a new grad applying to jobs in the Orlando area for the new year. I read a few post from a last year, but nothing current. Any information would be appreciated.

Anyone on this page got hired with FL Hospital? I start in a couple of weeks in the critical care unit. PM please.

Yeah I have been working there for 4 months now!

Pros? Cons? Which hospital? Which unit? I PM'd you. Thanks.

tsipareht and newgradma do you have any tips on getting into the new grad critical care internship at FH? I graduate in May with my BSN and I am really interested in an internship at either FH or Orlando Health. I precept in a CMICU now and was thinking about getting my ACLS prior to graduation to make my resume stand out more. I am not from the area and I feel like I am at an extreme disadvantage...

Nickc512 - I suggest taking as many certs as possibles including ACLS this will show them you are serious about the ICU.

Thanks for the response I will do my best to get some more certifications any other certain ones you recommend? Also congratulations with your new job and good luck!

Anyone applying for FH July new graduate program? Has anyone gotten in to the ONC PCU?

Hi, I was just hired into the GN program for multisystem PCU... was wondering what your experience has been with working there so far?

where is a good neighborhood to live in? I start in a few weeks and I want to be settled before I start. Any suggestions?
