  6. yea mines has been saying the same thing for about 2 weeks
  7. i have a question on how to assess a patient after an abdominal surgery for example when shuould you expect to hear bowel sounds, passing gas or bm. For example in nursing school I was taught if a patient has no bowel sounds they should not eat but I saw a patient that was 1 day post op with no bowel sounds but was on a clear liquid diet. I dont understand when bowel sounds should be heard and when the diet should be advanced.
  8. I would most like recommed living in fort lauderdale than miami because miami , fort lauderdale is quieter and nicer there is a alot of hispanics in miami so therefore if your not bilingual its gonna be hard especially if u live in certain parts in miami I am a new grad nurse and its hard to find a job there so I had to move to orlando. the cost of living is less and pay is less if u live somewhere that pays more the cost of living is more so it works out to be the same thing. I think florida is better bc houses and apartments are nicer and u receive more quality for what u pay for, there are alot of retired people in florida therefore healthcare will progress.

  12. what is the starting pay per hour at florida hospital and the nurse patient ratio for new grads.
  13. I am trying to compare the two hospitals Florida hospital and Orlando health. I know the starting salary at Orlando health is $22.50/hr for BSN and $21.30/hr for associates, the nurse patient ratio is 1 to 5, and night differential is $8.75 and weekends $3.20. Has anyone got accepted in the new grad program at Florida hospital if so can you share the location and floor starting pay for new grads, shift differential? What it is like working at Florida hospital? For example, the work environment and support from staff members along with how long the training is based upon the unit or floor you work on. Thanks.
