Think I'm in the same boat. I had my application done in early July. Not sure how they handle interviews (if they send in waves or it's all at once). Last year they took forever to send out rejections.

Specializes in ICU 2 years, step down 1 year.

Yes!

okay GPA I'm not 100 percent sure cause I have a 2nd bachelors. But I think my overall is like. 3.6ish. I did have a couple science classes I retook. I have ACLS, BLS, PALS. Adult surgical/medical ICU experience with some cvicu patients as well (I was an open heart nurse) x2.5 years, served as charge and precepted some as well. Passed my ccrn but added it on after I submitted. Hope that helps! Hang in there though. I every school is different but a lot of them do send out interviews in waves.

I got my interview invite on Wednesday! Does anyone have any insight as to what the interview style is like for FGCU?

Yeah, it's mostly EI. Apparently little to no clinical Q's at least is what other forums were saying

Phew at that point I'll already be interviewing elsewhere haha! Does anyone want to share what about this school they like? Or any insight from word of mouth? It's so hard to find info online from other cohorts and their experiences or why this particular school.

This is a wide open question.  Not sure exactly what you are looking for, but here is a little that I know.

Some people apply here just because it is inexpensive in comparison to other schools all-in.  Others apply because it is near the beach and for the weather.  For many people I know it is their top choice.  The school is in a nice area, but it is expensive to rent and live.  It is also not a true college town and the population age is a bit older.  If you are single, it will not be the easiest place to socialize over the three years you are there.

When I hear my coworkers talk some like it because it is a smaller cohort, but most feel they can't and won't gain acceptance here as it is tougher than many of the other schools.  Your app has to be really strong.  There are several people I know that have applied more than once and still declined.  Since it is a state school it is just harder to get in and there is greater competition for a small cohort.

The nursing program there is tough and they pump out solid nurses.  I work with a graduate from there and she runs circles around other nurses that graduated at the same time as her.  They do something right there.  From what I am told, they have a tough CRNA program and you better have a strong work ethic or choose another school.

From people I know that have precepted in that area it is a hit and miss.  That would be one negative that I have heard via word of mouth.  It really depends who you precept with and what you learn.  To be fair though that might be at any school and in any location.
